I would just like everyone to know that I will be covering the sales district of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties. We represent Smeal pumpers, tankers, aerials as well as SVI rescue trucks and boats. We also are now selling Fastlane command and response vehicles. Good luck to Yonkers, Mt Kisco, Wassaic and Port Chester on their recent purchases. If I can be of assistance to anyone feel free to e-mail me at tl2l31@yahoo.com.

Word of mouth at my firehouse

I am surprised that 41(volunteer) was replaced. Usually I thought that engine 4 (career) was and then the old engine 4 would be the new 41.

I have it down as Friday, August 3rd.

Saw Mount Kisco's new Pierce engine tonight at Pleasantvile and I must say it is a great looking rig. Good luck with it. Any word on your new ladder? We will be going out to the Smeal plant this summer to see our own rig at hope to sneak a peak at yours.

Being from a town with a full hydrant system, when I moved and buffed my first fire, I was amazed. It was somethig to see all these tankers lined up dumping water into portable pools. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

I think that this is a great site and thank Seth for it. Keep up the good work. We should all voice my opinions but never get personal. There are always two sides of the coin. As with everything, you always will have a few a$$holes.

Well put.

I volunteer because I love to do it. I can remember as a young boy running down to the corner when I heard that mechanical federal siren. The trucks were alot slower then. I am not trying to start a fight here, so no offense to any paid staff, but I personally dont need or want to get paid to do it. I know alot of guys that took their jobs for a good check. The true firefighters, paid or volly, love their jobs. Thats why they took a test or signed up at the local station. I feel like I am giving something back. It was a great feeling for me when I helped save three people. Thats why I do it.
