  1. What makes it worse is that he talks to the dead so you can't tell if she was dead when he talked to her and if he ever brought her back..
  2. http://kaiser.dreamhost.com/June%2018,%202..._island_095.jpg Theres a pic of the ALF on GI And more pics of the apparatus on GI http://nycfire.net/gallery/album50
  3. I'm assuming through hoses
  4. Speaking of patriotic decals.. Anyone know how much the flag grille from Pierce costs?
  5. All of the tillers in Bergen County are Volunteer.. Rutherford, Ridgefield Park, Garfield, and Cliffside Park..
  6. Where did you read this? As far as I knew, the only truth there is that we have the right of way to other motorists.. If you can find where you confirmed it, I would appreciate it..
  7. Anyone have opinions on people who have no affiliation with any emergency service and think they know it all?
  8. Does KME get the job done?
  9. Lets not forget the older guys who don't know everything.. There will always be younger guys who think they know everything.. Then theres the older guys who think the younger guys know everything and get pissed when they don't know something.. So us younger members will always catch s*** from every angle for everything..
  10. Lets hope nothing hits this area..
  11. Of course it had to be.. Otherwise it wouldn't be normal for Motorola..
  12. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.. HT1000 is by far the best..
  13. I'd like to get some views from others on the best portable radio.. I personally think the HT1000 is the best.. We have a few VHF HT1250 radios, and they are terrible for actual communication but have some great features.. I have heard that the UHF HT1250 is 10 times better then its VHF version..
  14. My dept does not require you to drive in your turnout but it must be on the apparatus.. If you do get to the scene of a working fire, that is when the driver must put it on..
  15. If I knew who, I would have no problem.. Hopefully we will be upgrading our website sometime soon and just get rid of the music..
  16. It's a good concept.. Way under utilized.. The overhead wires are what causes it not to be put into operation.. At any incident in the industrial area that the truck needs to be used for, it is 9 out of 10 times in operation..
  17. If something serious was to erupt, the wetdown normally wouldn't get shut down.. Besides the fact that if it is not at the firehouse, their turnout isn't normally there..
  18. Or that can be from someone who has been around the fire service for many years.. When you figure in all the costs, its not cheap at all.. For depts who dont receive generous funding from the town, a wetdown will never seem likely..
  19. The parking lot was cleared of foam by the units who came in afterwards.. The entire dept was out of service for the wetdown, and they had arranged cover in case of any calls..
  20. The were fed from someone else's engine.. Not sure who though..
  21. SCOTT has been making 1 hour bottles for quite some time now.. No bottle will last as long as its supposed to when you're working.. Not even for the fittest guys..
  22. Well the apparatus accidents in PG shouldn't be looked at as if theres more, cause if your dept ran the same amount of calls, you too would be prone to more accidents.. No driver is perfect and there will always be accidents.. Its not only driver error sometimes, its the idiots on the road who dont care.. I've seen people have complete disregard for responding units and do what they want and not care.. And those are the ones who complain that it took the fire dept or the ambulance too long to get there..
  23. So they're just going to give us $100 of our taxes back, then tax it as income..
  24. It also depends on the town and department size.. Smaller depts tend to abide by the rules and do everything the right way, not saying they all do..
