My interpretation of that section is that any vehicle operated by the Chief, asst. Chief, coordinator, or marshal is allowed to have the lights and siren in their personal vehicle. It says " such vehicle when operated in an official capacity"( when the Chief or whomever, is in their personal vehicle, or whoever is driving the chief, "under the direction"......may use lights and siren. Just what I get from that..........For whatever it's worth........

Harry Howard Hook and Ladder Company #1 of the Port Chester Fire Department will be holding it's wetdown of our 2007 Smeal 100' Ladder on Saturday, July 12 2008. This will take place at Fire Headquarters located at 209 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, N.Y. The hours are from 12pm to 4pm. All are welcome to come down and join the festivities. I didn't know this man, but from the stories that have been posted, it sounds like this is what the true definition of PRIDE in life is all about. I feel a sense of grief reading this and never met this fine gentleman. May he watch over the men of Belltown as he has and may we all watch over his family now that he is gone. Does anyone know of a really good either airbrush or graphic decal shop in the area. We are in the process of getting some custom work for the new Port Chester Ladder and the person who we wanted to do the work is just not getting back to us. Here's another take on the video. To me it looks like the officer was reaching for the skateboard and the kid was trying to stop him from getting to it. This happened off camera so we didn't see it, but if the officer reached for the board and the kid turned around while the officers hand was on the board, then during the struggle, his arm would be around the body and neck of the kid...... This just shows how a video does not show the WHOLE picture.
