All career, at least Aurora, Littleton, and Denver. Aurora is the 3rd largest City in Colorado, roughly 300,000 people. The Aurora Fire Department has 15 fire stations that cover approximately 152 square miles and serve approximately 325,000 citizens. Along with providing ISO class 2 Fire Protection, the Aurora Fire Department also provides advanced life support with paramedic engine companies, a full response Hazardous Materials Team, and a well equipped Technical Rescue Team. The Star of Life in front of the stations below show which stations provide paramedic service. Located in the Aurora Fire Department's 15 stations are 14 Engine companies, 4 Ladder/Truck companies, 3 Battalion Chiefs, 1 Hazardous Materials Response vehicle, 1 Heavy Rescue, 3 Brush Trucks, and many more miscellanous support vehicles to provide the highest level of service to our citizens.

Calm down, This could have happened any time of the day It wasn't like someone had issues with mid night showings. The shooter was a nut case.

IF YOU BELIEVE THE MAYOR

I would quit on the spot. I would have more advancement possibilities at McDonalds.

Wouldn't exactly call her unarmed. I've seen lots of damage and people killed with a stolen car

Sandy Hook is part of the Gatway National Recreation Area along with sections in Staten Island and Queens/Broooklyn along the shoreline of Jamica Bay near the Belt Parkway and the small islands near JFK, Floyd Bennet Field, Fort Wadsworth, Jacob Riis Park. Not too far from Earle Naval Weapons Station. Ports for some hi speed ferrries between Manhattan and NJ. Anything with an Ocean beach is popular but I wouldn't considered it a resort area. More high brow areas down towards Belmar, Manasquan, Point Pleasent. http://www.nps.gov/gate/index.htm

I was at this job. PAFD typically puts out 2 engines, a ladder, a rescue (NYPD ESU style) and a chief on first alarms. I'm not sure what their second alarm staffing is but a another engine and a ladder were closes in. Guys I spoke to describe the original fire building on fire from the side walk to the peak of the roof when they arrived. Ballon construction and biulding sperate of 2 feet at most help with the firsr spread help. Apparently their were hydrant issues when they arrived but that type of problem is not new to Perth Amboy. I wasn't too surprised with the exent of fire spread given the type of contraction. 2.5 100 year old wood balloon frame construction built feet from each other. This video from NBC News is retty good at showing condition up on arrival. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Perth-Amboy-NJ-Fire-Buildings-Collapsed-Residents-Homeless-156891495.html Basically it went to nine alarms pretty quickly. Even companies on SI were getting calls of smoke in the area. I'll try to post some photos later tonight.

Try reaching out to the Trauma Center you deal with. My hospital's Trauma Program office routinely provides feedback to the EMS agencies involved in a trauma patients care. A letter is generated about a week into the patient stay. It might take some steps to refined a process to make sure your agency is recorded on the patient care report but not impossible. Most of the Information in is compliance with HIPPA and standard patient confidentially standards.

Apparently the whole world has something scheduled this weekend, Some many choices, so little time.

I have to think this is more wide spread now a days. All our EMS vehicles have In Motion boxes. They allow our crews to use Toughbooks and up load run reports via EMSCharts and interface with our CAD system (Visicad). Also allows use of Fleeteyes.(http://www.fleeteyes.com/)

An excuse that in the end didn't work for the American fire service.

Last photo has a Holmatro tool in the rear compartment. Truely an ESU vehicle or something along those lines.

Almost none. Newark has one, I think. Monmouth county has a multi use helicopter available to them. Of course the NJSP. The PANYNJ Police disbanded their aviation unit last year.

Whose going to call Hackensack for a transfer? Certainly not hospitals in NYC. St Joseph's, I doubt it. Morristown? No. Jersey City, No. Westchester? I doubt it. Unuiversity in Newark? No, Any hospital in Bergen County? Certainly doesn't fit the risk:benefit answer. Maybe Orange. I do not what kida volume the would put out. Good Sam?

The NJSP has no plans to get out of the business. i would hope they didn't just waste my tax dollars on new Agustas just to have them sit in West Trenton waiting to the occasional flight. The NJSP is the only operation in NJ that flies with two pilots. I don't know how Hackensack is going to make money. There first due area is very small, squeezed between the NY state line to the north, the Hudson River to the east and other flight operations to south and west.

Fourth helicopter in Northern NJ, second one added this week. way more helicopters in NJ then it needs. It all fun and games until there's a smoking hole in the ground.

Plant cranking out fire trucks and ambulances By MICHAEL POLLICK Sarasota Herald-Tribune BRADENTON, Fla. -- In bright red with white stripes, the new fire engine being assembled for Heber Springs, Ark., is a shining thing of beauty. Across Oshkosh Corp.'s truck plant in Bradenton, an equally brilliant red-and-yellow ambulance, with a pair of dice emblazoned on its side, is being readied for paramedics in Las Vegas, part of a fleet being built to order. I'll pre-judge the driver. He blew a red light. Not much doubt in that. From the video view it wasn't like he slowed down and missed the vehicle. The almost got thru the intersection too.

You are right. You can'tsimple have a NY card an get a medic job in NJ. As a NY medic you would have to request reciprocity from the OEMS in New Jersey after getting a promise of employment with a NJ ALS provider. The State will look at your traing hour and cirriculmn and determine if it is on par with NJ. If it is they will issue a T-Card which allows you to work in NJ. The NJ EMS agency will evaluate the NYers skill and submit a report to OEMS in NJ recommending full certification. We have a St Vinny's graduate going thru this process right now.

this post is over three years old, some type of time warp?

Might have been a book published by the NY Daily News for their photo coolection featuring the FDNY. I have the book at home and will see if there is a photo such as the one described.

I have no official insight but perhaps Balto is pricing themselves out of the market. Perhaps the desire to keep thing fresh. I know the years when I took my wife she found Balto somewhat limit in diversions, especially in march when the weather can go either way.Of course she had been to Balto several times so maybe it was just her.
