Thats why I love the i page too, even if the pager doesnt go off you pretty much will recieve a message within the next min to let you know something is going on. Great backup tool. But ever since i switched to the minitor 2, I havent had any problems.

CT law allows for fire dept members to report such activities if they have enough time to catch a plate number, the person can then be ticked or given a warning by PD at a later time. I will try to look up the rules...

Also have to be CT EMT B, and CPAT by the date of hire, if not sooner

Unfortunatly, if the bylaws are set the member must conform to them as part of membership. From day one when you sign up you should be given a set and know all the rules... If there is a larger issue on hand, which this case may just be, take steps toward changing them if the membership majority will go for it. *Just an opinion that is all.

Not to discredit anything said previously, on the other side of the fence, parades to allow those of us who do volunteer to show off our pride and have fun. They help people get together and instead of working, blow off a little steam. IT is nice to have fun sometimes when all the other times you're giving your time to respond to calls. Once again training and drills are very important but so is making the atmosphere more conducive to memebers having fun together as well.

Not really sure what to think of it...

I was told by someone in communications nextel will have a lot of problems until they transfer over all their radio signals, they were forced to change by the FCC claiming interference with emergency band signals.... Could be the reason why or could just be the towers in the area acting up. A side note, if you log into mynextel.com you can report service outtages or problems. I have done this numerous times and have even been contacted by them occasionally. The more complaints they recieve for an area the more likely they are to respond to fix the situation no?

Training does not have to stop, everyones right. And especially if you cant always find time to make formal classes, find down time to know your equipment, drill with your crewmembers, even brush up on current articles in one of the many publications available. At the least it will keep you fresh with your surroundings as well as whats new in the field, to help the time lapse between formal classes.
