cheif drivers i thought were the same as a head driver making sure all aspects of a piece of apparatus are up to par as well as the other drivers who use it are trained properly.

air monitoring as well as ppv also decrease the risk of inhaling harmful substances, whever there is a question always revert to your pack.

All i can say is get a wood burning insert for your fireplace, heats the house all day on a few logs! Cuts down on oil and gas prices as much as 35% (we've noticed) just got to get the wood cut and stacked, and no worries if the power goes out.

I know all new apparatus must meet nfpa approval and they do have a certain ammount of square inches of reflectivity required, they also put down the ammount of lights that now go on to each section of a fire apparatus. As to what is required now I have no clue.

HAHA I knew i would get someone with a beer comment, anyway i've worn black and tan gear on similarly hot days and really dont notice a difference, my personal experience doesnt show there is a difference in heat, looks so far that more people prefer tan or light color over black gear.

I may be wrong but they sometimes can reply back to control with exact data as the dispatcher needs while the IC is busy running the show.

No opinion, use whatever works the BEST for your individual situation.

I didnt mean to go out and pick a fight, I meant calmly as to boot drives it is right to think about safety, i.e. putting up cones large signs and whatever else you may need, don't just stand out there.
