College is in no way a waste! Especially if you want to be a firefighter, you need the higher understanding of how the world works. Plus what do you plan to do if you get hurt, most people cant live on disability pay, always good to have a back up, and these days no one hires without at least a 2year most a 4 year degree.

Hope they hurry up its going to turn to either a snow or ice down. I love the looks of the truck dont like the color however, good luck tarrytown FD with it.!!

Well if its a danger to your members, pull it. Enough to burn skin is a little out there however the user should be protected with full ppe using it anyway;o) I would now contact hurst directly or perhaps talk with another dealer too to see if anyone else has had this problem. From personal experience, my rescue(Stratfield FD R-15) in Fairfield has all hurst tools, combi, o cutters, rams spreaders and large spreaders, even tho they're old we love em, they are reliable and get the job done. And believe me they get used ALot with the merrit parkway and 95 both in our town as well as Park Ave a 4 lane road right in our district. Who knows maybe it is a pump problem too, giving the tool too much pressure, wrong oil, low oil etc..., I'd at least have the whole unit serviced and checked over by a sales/service rep.

Good to keep on the backburner... that may help more up the line in the northern sections instead of in more urban/suburban areas down on the southern WC and CT borders.

Bridgeport Ct FD engine 3 as well as 5 i believe are both Hahn's they may have a few more floating around their reserve fleet someplace.

Listened to it since I was a kid, the new format is okay the newer one will suck. XM radio is a hundred times better anyway.

At my parents house in Fairfield, we have a scanner antenna on a roof mount, it runs a regular minitor pager and scanner, can pick up Westchester cty just fine, on 46.26, with the cross band repeaters now we dont even need the big antenna, the regular ones work fine.

It would be awesome if there were new ones of these, there have been some "good" calls since then

Just remember too, as towns grew and decreased land either bacame scarse or there was no money to relocate a firehouse to a better tactical position. Many stayed where they were at the height of their use.

In PC they 2391-3 are actual cars; chevy tahoes, others are designations.

I know its not in westchester but Fairfield Station 1 3(Stratfield) & 4(Southport) all have sliding poles still in use today.

Keeping our rigs looking clean and shiny is very important as we all know. And Im sure most of you have diamond plate on something or another. I am reaching out to anyone out there that can offer me a good way to bring back the shine on aluminum diamond plate. We have tried many things some work better than the others but all require long hours of rubbing away and buffing. Does anyone here have a better solution!?

thanks

In PC, i am pretty sure we have 2391-3 all cheifs, 2394 is the incoming cheif in an election year and 2395 usually is a deputy (past) cheif covering if other cheifs are out of town.

Also, usually they may have apartments above the commercial space on the first or second floors.

Just the fact they do the job and dont put a strain on your electrical system is all worth it! It is a bonus they are so highly visible and small for that fact.

Good thinking + i do think luck played a major role in that one!

Whos dept offers its members email addresses? I was curious to find out because some fd sites have member log in names. And if you do how often do you use it or is it for dept use only?
