  10. Anyone have any insight as to the abundance of 10-3 tone tests happening lately? Was something not working right? Just curious after hearing all the tests over the last 2 weeks or so.
  11. Oh that is cool, new equipment is always nice. I have noticed though, i have a minitor 4 and many ocasions it works fine and beeps the proper length, but like tonight a call came and I got 3 beeps out of it that was all, it's been happening to a few other people (over the past 2 or 3 weeks) i know of as well. Could the new system explain that or maybe its my beeper?
  12. Just curious: What depts or towns in the EMTBravo area use or require the knox box system? If used do all rigs have access to the key (their own key) or is it kept on specific vehicles? Also how is the key released by radio or some other means?

  14. Check out this site for an Idea of what a cascade on a rescue looks like, They do take up a lot of room. This rescue is also equipped with a 2200 psi air reel used for hooking up to the police divers to support their operations as well. http://www.rescue15.com/r15.html (The pictures may take a few mins to load)

  17. Does anyone know of a good place to get a basic remote car starter installed. I'm looking preferably in the lower county area and Fairfield county. Haven't found any place reliable or cost effective since I started looking. Thanks for any help.
  18. Constructive criticism is good but we all know what that leads to online. Too much opinion without good first hand knowledge of incidents can fuel that fire as well. I think its a good call to keep the critique to the dept level and off here, as they would be the people directly related to the scene and know where they went right or wrong.
  19. I actually went there, they are good but wanted over $450 for a basic starter and the installation.
  20. Yes ive heard many horror stories from all sorts of people who's car starters werent put in properly. One crossed wire sends the cars computer into a frenzy and god knows what will go wrong. Thanks for all the input everyone!
  21. Thanks for the info, good to know.
  22. What is the specific function / use of these high pressure pumpers in the city?
  23. All though its not the answer to the question, Dont forget about University of New Haven with a complete fire science/ forensics roster!
  24. I know some departments such as Fairfield have a special code (allong the lines of *911) on the keypad to these gates so they can facilitate getting in. Other places such as the colleges in Fairfield (Sacred Heart U and Fairfield U) which have gates are requested to be opened (security does this) by the responding units if need be.
