  1. Great idea as long as the security of the information is guranteed. Who knows what someone would do these days with some info like that... like I said again, great idea.
  2. Im pretty sure just about everyones had a brush fire or two due to this weather already!
  3. Thanks everyone
  4. Anyone here know of someplace or a company that can turn a patch or that type of image into a reflective decal? My vol. company in CT is looking into placing a decent sided one on the rear side doors. So If anyone has any ideas please give a shout.
  5. Does this mean every police cruiser will have to remove theirs as well as large bumpers on other vehicles like DOT trucks and perhaps even some fire equipment? Waste time on something worthwhile solve a real problem.
  6. In my experience low band46.26mhz travels much better during moist/ overcast weather, and high band 400mhz tends to have some trouble during the situation. When ever there is a storm I hear 60 control up in CT if I am here clear as ever sometimes even hearing the units themselves which is a rarity.
  7. Yonkers, Larchmont, Mt Vernon. Port Chester and Rye did until just recently (within the last year or so). I believe Tarrytown and Irvington do as well. Could be wrong someone help me out on this.
  8. Maybe that number is nationwide? AMR runs a large patient unit in CT as well with the same type of equipment mentioned above.
  9. On the back of many of the Minitor II, III&IV amplified house chargers there is an accessory port with some sort of relay according to Motorola. They say you can use it to turn on and off many devices (lights, alerting systems, ect) when the pager is activated and off when its reset. Does anyone know how to set this up to do anything? Been trying to find out how on the internet to no avail. Would be a cool little help if I knew how to use it. Anyone out there who knows how to use it and can explain please do. Thanks, Chris
  10. Got any pictures of what youre describing?
  11. 60 Control PC PD at the firehouse, 46.26 high band repeater for when im up in CT, Also listen to Fairfield, occasionally westport and bridgeport.
  12. But if there is no tie to the victim on the site how can anyone get in trouble? If there is nothing that can identify that specific person, ie a license plate, shot of the victim ect how can someone get in trouble? whether or not it is tasteful is a nother question for another day.
  13. It is deemed squad 6 city of orange ca. Not sure if its part of any task force, judging by the size of it it probably is though.
  14. Up in Fairfield, annually in june/july we have a half marathon, although a bit different there are well over 5000 + participants, volunteers, and spectators. Allthough this still may be less that what Westchester Cty will expect, we do set up triage tents as well as plenty of rehydration stations and extra police are added. Along with the Triage tent there are ambulances standing by. On a normal year avg temps we can see anywhere from 10-30 people. This past summer with temps in the upper 90's we saw close to 60 people in that 5 or 6 hour time span wiht a total of 16 serious who got transported to area hospitals. Planning and logistics will def. help out, and even from a fire standpoint maybe roatating companies from around the county to cover could be an idea as to not over burden the area depts.
  15. Id love to go for a ride, regardless of how practical or not that thing really is!

  22. I also thought about it further for tech rescue, what if they had to stabilize a large beam, remove a downed tree from a car ect.. this last summer/winter proved a tool like that could be useful..

  24. If they use it, most likely it is for immediate technical resuce work, not so much recovery, but just think how much difference it would make to have a rescue with a 15 ton crane on a call where a car goes into shallow water and people are trapped...
