Its sad to see that a place were you can go for help is not allowing those that help other to do what they need to do. I am wondering if someone either drove recklessly on there property or was rude to the members of the church

Nice truck, Good luck with it. I hope you have fun during parade season keeping it white, Stay away from the mud puddles.

I feel that the IC did his job, and followed rule number 1 EVERYONE GOES HOME AND GOES HOME SAFELY. He did what he needed to do for a reason. He has EMT's with the pt an yes you "should never" deny advanced care but there are unsafe situations and personal are not equipped for the job, you have to do what you have to do. We something similar. We use a paid EMS service and they provide us with an ALS bus. When we have our old EMS company we were called out for a roll over MVA with poss. entrapment. being the first member and the scene I started to eval the situation (scene safety, numb of Pt's things like that) about a minute later EMS arrived with no gear on the bus. Being the only EMT with gear, I had to go into the vehicle, and yes the PT would have been better of with ALS but he got the best we could give him at the time, and that's all we could do. I say good call Chief, its easier to say NO YOU CAN NOT GO IN, then I am sorry you got hurt.

If you feel that being squeemish/hemophobic is going to be a problem it might not be the best thing to do, however if you know anyone in a VAC or on a paid bus see if there officers will let you do a ride-a-long for a shift or two and see if its for you before you commit your self for the long hall. Best of luck with everything.

Both fires in New Hamburg were both basement fire's. There was New Hamburg, Village of Wappingers Fall and Hughstonville Fire Dept's on scene. Great job by all member and the Command staff. A little confusion at first (hey two fires at the same time...it takes a toll on your brain) but they figured it out. Way to go guy's great save on both houses and a good old fashion ATA BOY to Glenn Kramer (45-1) for grabbing the dog in the 1st house, who was a little scared but was unharmed (to all of our amazement).

Can't beat this store. The lady that owns the place (Jane I think) is great. We go there every now and them for new uniform's or badges and she remember everything about it. You got to love small business. It gives you that personal feeling.

Very nice good luck with it. However I dont like the look of the new Ford trucks but it looks like its set up just right. Did you get XM radio with it?

I think that most people would know who the dispatch agency is by looking at the town/city/village being dispatched. How ever dispatch centers can make all the diffrence on an call cause they are the commands life line to get more equipment to the site.

I can not believe the level of professionalism on this forum. It seems like most people did not realize what a great job that the operator's of 68-45 did that day, or the fact that 10ft above the turntable was utility lines. To operate a ladder truck of that size in the village is not easy, and sometimes impossible. Putting the supply line on top of that car, guess what it happens, EVERYWHERE. Think about during your time in the fire service or even ask some of the older members in your dept and see how many time's you or they have done thing's that are out of the ordinary to get the job done. I think that some people forget a rule in the fire service, risk vs. reward. I will even break it down for you, Risk: couple of dings and scratches on the roof of a car, and an upset resident. Reward: Saving a building from complete destruction, SAVING THE LIVES OF OUR BROTHERS BY SUPPLYING WATER TO THEM. I am not sure but I think I would rather go for the reward and not have to explain for a brother's family why their loved one had passed cause..... well......, we did not was to damage a parked car. Sorry.
