After you get your EMT I would go for MLSS since they have a good track record. HVP is the old Empire State who does not have a good track record.

Almost Lost Skills Being Late Sucks

This was a find I had over the winter during a gas leak in an apt complex in the Village of Wappingers, and NO the pictures were not taken around that gas leak at all, this was just part of the evacuation process. I am sure that some or most of you have seen something like this but I feel is always good to but these up so newer members can become aware. Just remember when your doing a search check EVERY DOOR. If you think about the law this would include your mintors and other fire notification devices. However the reason the law states ", who equips a motor vehicle with a radio receiving set capable of receiving signals on the frequencies allocated for police use or knowingly uses a motor vehicle so equipped or who in any way is done that way for a reason. If you have ever seen a Frequency Allocation Chart you will see that ALL EMERGENCY SERVICES are assigned the same block of frequencies for use along with may other services. (They are a little hard to read.) This law prevents ANYONE from monitoring ANY FREQUENCIES alloted for that use, HOWEVER.....A person, not a police officer or peace officer, acting pursuant to his special duties, defines who can and Firefighters, EMT's Medics along with other personnel who are ALLOWED to carry a notification device (ie. Mintor Pagers.) If you read the FCC license you will see that each dept does have an alloted about of radio's they are allowed and licensed to have. Mintors are not part of that due do the ever changed number of member's and that they are only a one way device. The reason the state does not want people having scanners is for not only our safety but the safety of the general public. If anyone has seen the movie "The Fast and the Furious" I believe it is part 2 were you see Ja Rule holding a scanner listing for the police. That should fill you needs. PS I am not a lawyer just someone who know a little bit about this stuff THIS IS NOT TO BE USED FOR ANYTHING OTHER THEN A POST ON THIS SITE. OH AND MERRY CHRISTMAS
