Thoughts and Prayers to the Teal family along with the Pleasant Valley Fire Dept. May they all find comfort during this tragic time.

Ill have to agree with ya on this John, Ive seen Chief's with out the "command box" and they look so unorganized its not funny. The command officer does still need basic tool for those jobs that need to be handled on the spot, (ex. force entry on and EMS run, small camp fire ect...) They do help the chief stay organized, which is very important (mostly for the ones with OCD).

just wondering why you have 4 FF's going on the roof to vent. However, looks like an awsome stop and Ill give props to the roof guys, they all have packs on and looks like that are all on air.

I think this was a great use of time. When all your doing is sitting there with your hands in you pockets and new members, thats always a great time to learn.

Congratulations to Commissioner Clair. Saftey Educator of the Year

I must agree, $5 per call is nothing. Most of us spend that at the call between cig's, gas, maybe a coffee. If you break it down were the member is responding to 25% of all the functions (alarms/drills) they will only bring is and avg of $93.75 /mo. Thats not really alot. concerding that an officer can put that out of pocket for coffee for the guys on drill's every month if he/she does not care or forgets to about rembursment

I have a question regarding spinal immobilization protocol, I am hearing that now it is up to the care giver (EMT or medic) to decide if the PT need to have spinal immobilization based upon MOI and pts pain. If this is the case can someone give me some in site as to why they did this?

Yes we are very lucky to have Bill along with JetPhoto and JMuller (I think that how you spell it) in the area, they awalys get great shots, some better then other. I awalys know that I'm at a good alarm when one of them are there. Great job once again Bill.

No 68-55 was not out of service...the north bound side of Rt 9 is covered by New Hamburg from the bridge to the arlington line. New Hackensack covers from Eckerds to the bridge. Wappingers covers on the south side from the bridge the area of pizza hut and from the Foam and wash to the light at New Hackensack Rd. Hughsonvill was covering for NKFD since they were on a special event. that why 45-55 was called and not Wappingers

EAST SCHODACK, NY (05/20/2009; 1701)(readMedia)-- A small group of fire chiefs from across New York state was in Albany today as legislation was passed in the New York State Senate to re-establish a commercial drivers' license exemption for New York's career and volunteer firefighters. The bill passed overwhelmingly in the Assembly on Tuesday evening and was met with the same support in the Senate on Wednesday. The bill will be sent to Governor David Paterson in time to allow fire departments to participate with fire trucks in Memorial Day parades without breaking the law. Link to story
