Yesterday afternoon Wappingers F.D. was called out to set up an LZ at Imperial Plaza for a subject with burns. I don't see an issue with what the call was or were the LZ was at all. What I do have a question about is can Dutchess County Airport be used as an LZ, and if not, why? I know that you can use an area hospital (ex: Putnam) as an LZ unless the pt goes into the ER, I understand why.

Very poor idea by the Board of Fire Commissioners. The next thing is people are going to complain about there fire insurance rates jumping by about $300 or more, and the lack of members responding, I know that I have relied on the siren a lot over my 12yrs in the fire service. Just an fyi those batteries are for the power supply for cablevision. In the gray 1in pvc pipe is also live electral wires. In the power supply there are either 6 or 8 batteries depending on the area it is feeding. It is always important to "look up" when you have a car into a pole. Those power supplies are very heavy can can do a lot of damage.

At least the tax payer's know just what there getting. I hope this works out for the EMS side of thing. PoJo

To Seth and the EMTBravo Team: Thank you for all that you have done over the last 7yrs. I have learned so much from this site over the yrs not only about other depts but how to be a better line officer and FF. This site has started so many conversations at my fire house as I am sure it has others. I wish I could donate to this site but like most people I do not have the money to do so. Seth I wish you the best of luck with your new baby, your health and your job search. I hope that there is a EMTBravo comeback site. God Bless you and your family Seth.

I dont think that it matters what type of agency this was. The big picture is they neglected to do there duty and acted and a most unprofessional matter just by refuseing a call after finding out the details. Would they of done the same thing if it was a tramatic arrest, or an MCI. The fire department is not only A: Required to have an ambulance stand-by at all structure fire's (at least thats my understanding). and B: Count on EMS being readily available on scene in the event that something (God Forbid) happens to one of it's members. I hope that the agency that these people work with have/are takeing action on this, along with reporting to the state EMS Bureau.
