Mark That's correct. The Dutchess Community College Fire Science Program is sponsoring a demo of the FIT-5 this Saturday the 22 at 0930. The demo will be held on the auto pad at DCDER. From what I hear parking will be limited as to a large turn out, so car pooling recommended. The demo should only take approx 15 - 20 mins. Hope to see everyone there.

I have seen in recent posts here on our forum and also in comments left on Poughkeepsie Journal and Lohud Articles the ever increasing public opinion on the emergency services. Whether it be a Career v. Volunteer, Response times, or Speed, these comments continue to increase and are building a wall against us. So, I was wondering a couple things: 1- How does your department react to some of these comments? 2- How can we as an emergency serrvice truthfully inform the public of what we actually do?

On a more serious note I had a discussion with one of the guys at the station today and after somewhat of a debate we think that the President-Elect could be refering to our Local Law Enforcement because they technically are not Military personnel. So, maybe in his eyes they are civilian security. I don't know about you, but I still don't agree. I think it's a LARGE streach

I don't know about you but when I'm driving I'm not paying attention to the vehicle types. I would be more concern with the road instead of where the officers are hiding.

My suggestion would be just what you said, do your minute-man lay and keep your bunny ears the same as you always have. It has to be a pretty difficult task to filp 200 ft of hose and a nozzle. The best way to figure out what will work best for you though is to spend the day pulling hose. Hope that helped.

The worst is being awake for the time change. You're all set for only 5 more hours at work and then all of a sudden you have 6 left lol

Just wondering, and it could be an easy answer, how come when an incident alert is written, and may not be fully completed, it mysterious ends up with aditional information added or changed? I can see some, very little items, being changed by moderators, but I feel that this is almost like a censorship sometimes. Things get mysteriously changed and added. By no means is this an attack or outburst on any one person or the site, I am just curious...
