Well look at it this way at least they now know it works

Chief you missed the point of my post. I totally agree with you in the use of our PPE. My post was meant to say that this topic was created by a fellow firefighter, about the fact that he was involved in the incident. The point of the thread was lost, it wasn't meant to say whether or not units on scene were wearing their vests or not.
-
23 CFR Part 634 states that the vest must be worn by the worker, which is defined in the regulation, when they are in the right of way. Since there was no traffic there was no right of way. Secondly, a brother was involved in the accident, why in the world are we worried about if somebody on the scene had a vest on?? 50 glad to hear you are ok and hope all involved are okay as well

Thanks to all. Same goes from me. Just finished up my first semester of Medic School and boy am I in need of a break

Exactly what I was trying to get at

While some services may have problems with their companies and/or policies I do not think it's right that any one agency is bashed here on this forum, and unfortunately that's where I see this topic going.

I want my partner to be at least the same if not in better physical shape than I am. I'm sorry, I don't care if you are my best friend, if you are not physically or even mentally cut out for the job than it's not for you. Not every job is meant for everyone. My safety isn't going to be jepordized for your bad health. My opinion may be on the harsh side, but my safety and the safety of the others operating on scene is the most important.
