I dont know about you but I dont like the idea of turning over a call when my department can txp. The medic can grab his/her gear and get on, Why go through all that training for somebody else to do the work. PRIDE . As far as I know most of the time the pt is packaged and almost ready for txp just waiting for ALS and yet still will be in route to the Hosp depending on the location of ALS. Now as for a waste of sources it most certainly can be.
-
Most of the time the department is said with the ID "I.E. DC911 Pleasant Valley 56-12 is reponding" And if you are dispatching and can't remember who has what identifier there is a problem...
-
And too add I also believe that the "79" in dutchess county will be for the commercial ambulances @ Volunteer stations...which will switch from 73. I.E. Millbrook 49-73 = 49-79
-
For City fire M/A they do get dispatched by both 911 centers.

Clancy is the head of it as told from his mouth...

Contact New York Tactical EMS on EMTBravo, also just talked with the leader of the org and he showed me some videos pretty cool stuff, only thing is no one in Dutchess County recognizes the certification yet, I believe Alamo and City of Poughkeepsie PD are looking into getting a Tactical EMS Team of some sort.
