Why are we debating or even making an issue of the guys riding the rig? The issue here is some a****** drunk driver crashed into a fire truck carrying three people who didn't deserve to get hurt. Bottom line - my hopes for a speedy and full recovery for all the firefighters involved....because I could care less if the lush that hit them survives.

I only have one thought. KILL THE PRICK!

How does the Mayor of Munchkinland know what Lt. Meyran would have wanted for his wife? I applaud her and all LODD widows, I've seen firsthand how difficult it is to move on and to raise families. These women are very strong and courageous....she should of knocked him out, that would of been sweet. What a stupid thing to say Mikey....

GIVE ME A BREAK! Are people really getting this stupid?! WOW.....

Watching some of these videos I am wondering something. Would a regular 39 year-old female citizen who goes into cardiac arrest at this facility receive the assistance and escorts that Anna-Nicole got?! I don't understand why these idiots from Hollywood get so much extra attention. Most of them, so it seems, are pieces of garbage and don't deserve anything more then Joe Public. That's my rant for the day.... thoughts?

Why did she have her own nurse? Was there a pre-existing condition?!

I think it sucks - money now wasted on the IFSTA books.... WHY CAN'T NYS BE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?! I just took a course and half the class had one text, the other half another. "Those of you with the right book turn to 5-21, those with the others go to 8-3." D'oh.

Excellent shots.

I hope this comes to Westchester. I want to handle the first call with it. "No sir, you are right. It isn't the right color for a Bowel Movement. EMS is on the way..." Seriously though, in some cases, for example, if a truck crashes and the person is, um, stupid, they can take a picture of the placard and the 911 center can look up the # and see what it's hauling. Just a thought.

Were you in cuffs?

Party = Yes, at the firehouse. I said it once and I'll say it again - COLTS, only because I want Eli to learn from his brother how to win.

I just noticed something insanely ironic. Engine 119 is now Engine 19. Still running from Station 2. It WAS the "Pride of the Northside" - now it is "Pride of the South Side." That's funny, well, to me anyway.

YES! I've been checking the Maywood FD website daily for updates! I'm glad to hear they like it, I am sure it will serve them well. How much 5" is it carrying? When can I come down and requalify on it?

I had heard this from time to time in passing - not a bad idea. Best of luck to Brewster to better protect their ever-growing community.

I agree with you Partyrock, it does seem like a lot of places are going bigger. At the same time, I have seen agencies that bought bigger units go back to the smaller ones after realizing their downfalls. In all honesty, if you are handling the majority of your calls with a two-person crew then you should STRONGLY consider a smaller unit with a low-lift for the stretcher. The absolute worst ambulance I've ever had to work in is the one in our FD - ambulance 55B1. I know that the rest of my fellow members and all the Medics that have had to deal with this thing will agree. The ambulance was originally mounted on a Ford F350 chasis. The chasis was destroyed in an accident several years ago and the box was remounted on a Ford F-Super Duty chasis. When I tell you that this thing has the worst ride in ambulance history, it's no exaggeration. The enormous downfall is the height of the box. We can't buy any stretchers with the "wheel drop release" because it won't reach the ground. We have to lower the cot all the way then pick the patient up to load them. Unloading is worst, we have to take the patient entirely out, put them on the ground, then lift the cot up again. There has been several times where members of not only the FD but our PD has injured their backs on scene. I wish we could just replace it - however our Village has yet to comprehend how troublesome, difficult and hazardous it really is. Luckily our newer rig is a PL Custom and it works well. With luck we could get rid of the current 55B1 and replace it with a similar unit to 55B2. Here's a pic of our 55B1. (The one on the right).

I double checked, and according to the list I have... 453.975 is linked to 46.06 (used to be 46.26). 453.350 is linked to 33.96. "K"

I got that the other day - funny and mostly true!

Pound Ridge FD has a simulcast to 46.06 with their UHF of 453.9750. I don't know how well you'll hear it in the southern end of the County.

The exhaust stack, in my opinion, is the best feature from what I see in the pictures. It's too bad we can't see that more often. Good luck with them.

Reminds me of a certain night in Croton past, when the old L44 was on a call in the "back woods" - and the Q got stuck. They drove it back to quarters, with the Q stuck on at like, 0500, and triggered a ton of panicked phone calls to Croton PD inquiring if Indian Point was melting down. Ring a bell, 1191stdue and dma327?! I believe this incident, along with dozens of other issues, prompted the purchase of the current TL44.

I stopped watching after a minute - did it get interesting at all?

I stand by my statement... I still hate the public.

Reason # 135,421 why I hate the public. Get a grip!

I don't think that's where it is headed.....I hear it may be going a little more south.
