  1. Comptroller: Fire company funds missing Last updated: 1:20 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007 HALFMOON - State auditors have determined that more than $62,000 is missing from a Saratoga County fire company, Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said today. DiNapoli blamed poor record keeping and weak controls over financial transactions for the lost or stolen funds at the W.K. Mansfield Hose Company between 2001 and 2007. After conducting an internal audit in January, fire officials contacted the Comptroller's Office and the State Police. Auditors found the company's treasurer had unlimited access to and control over company funds, and operated with virtually no oversight, enabling him to allegedly steal fire company money and conceal the theft, DiNapoli said in a press release. The treasurer reportedly took money by making checks out to cash. Auditors attribute $43,461 of the missing money to him, the press statement says. State police earlier this year arrested the treasurer, Lee Lussier, comptroller's office spokesman Bill Reynolds said. His wife, who was responsible for collecting money paid to the company for rentals of the fire hall, misappropriated at least $18,713, agency officials said. She did this through ATM withdrawals and by making checks out to cash, the office said. She has not been charged, Reynolds said. The company serves the West Crescent Fire District and portions of the towns of Halfmoon and Clifton Park.
  2. Hudson144- This guy DiBlasi play any role in your "promotion"?
  3. There is a huge number of fire/EMS volunteers in the NYSP. The Major in charge of NYC Operations is a former FC here in Westchester. on LI, there is a Trooper who is currently a FC. Many examples of this statewide.
  4. I don't know how reliable? I am assigned to the EMS Office, and that idea was floated about 4 years ago and dropped. There has been no discussion recently of any serious nature.
  5. In addition to the above, if you work in Westchester, your salary is: Academy Graduation: $69,326 1 Year: $73,159 5 Years: $85,019 Not including OT, Education pay, Fitness pay, etc... And they are negotiating the new contract as we speak, so these numbers will be higher by the time appoinments off this list are made...
  6. AmericanPolice - I don't have pics, I don't usually take any. I got to play on the Bearcat today, so anyone in N. dutchess, keep your camera ready to get a shot. CommandChief- .357 Revolver til 1990, the Glock 9mm til earlier this year, now .45 cal.
  7. One of those Bearcat's is at Troop K HQ in Poughkeepsie right now.
  8. 5-year certification is good if you have discipline. We all know people that wait til month number 35 out of 36 to start trying to get 48 CME's and 24 CA's. Imagine those types who wait 59 out of 60 months to get 40 CA's and 80 CME's! If you have that discipline, 5-years is nice.
  9. Does this article say that a Trauma patient was transported from Orange County to Hackensack, New Jersey? Two seriously hurt in Kiryas Joel crash September 11, 2007 Kiryas Joel -- The passenger and driver of a livery cab were seriously injured, when their vehicle crashed head-on into a kosher foods delivery truck on Acres Road this morning. The accident occurred around 10 a.m. at the corner of Acres and Satmar Drive rerouted traffic around the main village road for about an hour. State police Sgt. Warner Hein said the passenger of the cab, belonging to Best Associates Cab Co. of Monroe, sustained serious neck, head and chest injuries from the crash. She was taken to Hackensack Medical Center by Hatzolah ambulance. The cab driver, who sustained head and neck injuries, was taken by Hatzolah to the Arden Hill Campus of Orange Regional Medical Center in Goshen. Hein did not know if the passenger was a Kiryas Joel resident. The victims’ identities were withheld pending notification of relatives. Hein said the accident occurred when the driver of the eastbound truck crossed the center lines while trying to avoid a third-party vehicle that had apparently stopped in front of it to make a left, but then suddenly went forward. The truck then collided with the cab, which was going westbound. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

  14. State University Police are hired off this list, if that's what your asking.
  15. The typical HELP Truck hours are 6a-10a and 3p-7p (on the Taconic/Sprain/684/87/95).
  16. That makes the most sense, but the NYSP CVEU units do not have any special insignia with the word "Commercial".
  17. If there are any NYPD people on this site, please PM me ASAP...
  18. I have to admit, I'm kinda surprised (impressed) the cabbie stepped up to the plate in the end.

  20. Two months past due and no prenatal care? Did I read that right? I do not blame the MD at all. Let me guess, a clinic or hospital not equipped to handle high-risk births? No surgical or high-rick neonatal back up? And contractions as quick as every 2 minutes with a 2nd child, I'd want to get to a tertiary care facility also, "code 3" as you say. Ob nurses are right, we are there to passivly assist in 99.9% of cases. An 11 month gestation with no pre-natal care has a high probablity of being in the 0.1% left over.
