What liberals? Where did that come from? Isn't this an IG report? Is any of this 'forced' OT? If not, then these guys are making the decisions that ditate how much time they are spending at home. As one who ELECTS to work a significant amount of overtime, that is a choice I make.

Everyone wants increases in salary, services, etc, but no one ever wants to know where the money is coming from. And all politicians raise taxes, Republicans and Democrats.

This posting should be for Dep Comm Jackson's spot.

Pure political posturing. Similar to the annual NYS vs. WC dilemma that raised it's head as NYS threatened to stop paying WC for the Parkway patrols. Every year we heard about iminent layoffs...

Since "Fire" is the one area I have little technical knowledge, this new E6 to me looks like a Ladder truck, am I wrong?

The funny thing is from what I can tell is they merged the Yonkers jumper story with the Dutchess County Fatal MVA, in which the woman was killed and her baby saved.

This is a tragedy, but, does anyone think this makes a case for/against mandatory retirement ages for roles like this?

In many cases, (I do not know if WCCS uses this method), tie scores are ranked in the order which your application was received when you applied for the exam.

N.J. hospital worker charged with sexual activity with corpse (Original publication: October 30, 2007) TEANECK, N.J. (AP) - A lab technician is accused of sexually abusing the corpse of a 92-year-old woman at a Teaneck hospital. Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Merino was fired from his job at Holy Name Hospital. Authorities said a security guard saw him engaging in sexual activity with the body in the hospital morgue. Bergen County officials charged him with desecrating human remains, which is punishable by up to 10 years in state prison. A judge set bail at $400,000 and required Merino to undergo a psychological exam.

FDNY Firefighters Arrested For Firehouse Arson NEW YORK (AP) ― Two firefighters have been arrested on charges of setting fire to a Manhattan firehouse. The Fire Department says the two men, who didn't work at the firehouse where the fire was set, face felony charges of arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. The department says the men are accused of using a flammable liquid to set an apparatus door on fire at Engine 34 in Manhattan. A firefighter on the scene saw smoke entering the firehouse and alerted on-duty firefighters, who extinguished the flame. No one was hurt. The Fire Department is not releasing any information on why the men may have set the fire. The Uniformed Firefighters Association did not immediately return a call seeking comment, and calls to home numbers listed under the names of the firefighters went unanswered.

Until this year the MANDATORY retirement age was 57. Just this year, it was raised to 60. The only one exempt from the mandatory retirement age is the Superintendent. Just another note/perk: 12-hour schedule, and every other weekend is a three-day weekend, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Currently, you cannot have reached your 30th birthday on the test date, but that can be extended if you have Military service. So, for example, if you served four years in the Military, your maximum age is 34.

So, in your case, he was a good guy? That gives him a little more credibility in my eyes, personally.
