  1. The new model year SP Tahoe is stationed at Cortlandt. It's 3K59.

  4. Scott- As usual, well put.
  5. The situation may be sad, but not a justification for lawsuits. The only one's who profit are the attorneys. Sometimes accidents happen, and they're isn't always someone to necessarily blame.
  6. I agree, I like the idea. The proposed locations are all fairly central, maybe with the exception of the 701 Washington St site.
  7. Wow. Calling in TRT four hours into the incident? http://recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...5/NEWS/80515030
  8. I was just coming on to ask the same question. I passed a RC convoy of SUV's with trailers coming through Bear Mtn/Harriman park. I then passed by Monroe FD and saw several M/A units standing by in addition to a HazMat heavy rescue (yellow in color, couldn't make out where it was from.)
  9. See NYS Penal Law Sec. 35.15 (2)(a)(i).
  10. I think your exactly right.
  11. Can anyone say 'frivilous lawsuit'? http://lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008805040369

  13. Really? Out of hand? I thought this was one of the most civil discussions about staffing I've seen on here in quite some time.
  14. Or perhaps, few have responded cause you just posted this a few hours ago and only a limited number of people have even read it?
  15. This was the position I was lying out, whether or not I clearly conveyed it.
  16. An interesting, yet probably not coincidental note, he is represented by the same lawyer as Ridley's family. Hmmmmmm....
  17. I guess on this one, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  18. If a cardiac arrest (no trauma involved), it would be more beneficial to work the patient at the scene with the second set of hands (my EMT partner.) You want to initiate transport just to get a patient to a facility that has all the same ACLS capabilities we do in the field?
  19. No, you'd step up and ask one of those firefighters that were present on the scene to ride in with you. If you choose to cowboy it by yourself, you just better hope nothing else goes wrong on that transport, because you're committed yourself entirely.

  21. Having only one guy in the back with a BVM doesn't allow for much else (read: anything) to get done.
  22. I hope to never see this in Westchester, but with some turf wars that do develop locally, I cannot say for sure it wouldn't ever happen.
  23. This system has worked in certain places over the years. Perhaps lets discuss the positive features instead of predicting where the failures (might eventually) be. As we see in many local agencies, the "traditional" approach to firefighting has ALOT of room for improvement. I say kudos to this city for taking some initiative.
  24. Not all cops. I assure you of that.
