  1. Do some people even do the most basic of research before posting some of their "thoughts"?
  2. Actually, you do need to say more. Despite whether your for McCain or Obama, can you seriously base your entire vote on his middle name? That to me is more scary than the prospects of either of these candidates winning the election. (And about 1 minute of BASIC research will debunk your above statements.)
  3. NYST PBA and NYS have reached a tentative. Due to the fact your working location affects your compensation, I'll make it simple and only list the figures for Troopers assigned to Westchester County. (Personnel assigned to NYC and LI are higher while those further upstate are slightly lower.) 2008 - Recruit Trooper (Academy) $50,374 2010 - Recruit Trooper (Academy) $51,574 2008 - Trooper - 1st Year $79,361 2010 - Trooper - 1st Year $88,280 2008 - Trooper - 5th Year $92,213 2010 - Trooper - 5th Year $101,759 2008 - Trooper - 25th Year $106,213 2010 - Trooper - 25th Year $117,759 2008 - Sergeant - 5th Year $106,613 2010 - Sergeant - 5th Year $117,189 2008 - Sergeant - 20th Year $120,617 2010 - Sergeant - 20th Year $133,189 2008 - Zone Sergeant - 20th Year $125,171 2010 - Zone Sergeant - 20th Year $138,067 These are just a few examples, since the SP has 7 different ranks of Sergeant, there is a complicated chart to figure out the salary. Also, these amounts are just base salary, not including OT, Education Pay, or Fitness Pay. Also, there is no uniform allowences because SP Members are provided all uniforms, equipment and dry cleaning at no charge.
  4. Classified!
  5. Then provide a link to one of the 500 topics where that has been addressed ad naseum. Why hijack yet another? The poster did not indicate any staffing issues, did he? He asked a straight forward question.
  6. Why is it valid? The man asked a clear and specific question, why does is need to go off on a tangent. Wanna discuss manpower, start another thread about manpower.
  7. Wappingers is MUCH closer than MV/White Plains.

  10. There used to be only two, and only one after 11pm when I worked there a few years back. Friday and Saturday nights in WP were quite an adventure when you only had one bus working. So having three, I can only imagine, is now a luxury.
  11. Funny enough, I have literally sat on all of the roads that lead to this facility. RWC130 can vouch for me on that one!
  12. Then the management and the dispatcher can sit with you at the defendants table when your called on the carpet in a civil trial.
  13. I was more referring to the frequent reckless response via Route 9A through Buchanan, Montrose and Croton when they're responding to Bethel. The suggestion that all those runs were emergencies was sarcasim (which is hard to convey here!)
  14. You should see them down in Westchester. It seems to me that 90%+ of the calls at Bethel-Croton must be "real" emergencies!

  16. I don't know much about this group, since I don't work in the city. What I do know is we're supposed to be better then them. We shouldn't sink to their level.
  17. Generally I agree, but this kid is 3 weeks out of the academy and pulling this stunt? I have no sympathy.
  18. Please cite under what section "you could be cited for patient abandonment." I suspect you will not be able to, as this is nonsense.
  19. Kudos to whichever Moderator is calling people out on this board to cite the rules/laws/statutes, etc., that are so easily thrown around as gospel.
