While that is logical, this program started pre-economic meltdown.

Going on all the cars.

Rob: I see your 20 and raise you a new car!

Where did this AAA story come from? Was that part of the News12 story? Generally, Police (at least where I work), don't start investigations based on allegations posted on EMTBravo.
-
An arrest would only be forthcoming if the recruit failed to list these arrests. If he listed them, and MV decided to hire him anyway, there's no crime per se.

http://lohud.com/article/20081007/NEWS04/810070438 Anyone from Mohegan confirm this? Medevac'd from Oregon Rd to HVHC? Or is this another Journal News banner job? If it is true, bad weather? Unstable airway? ...?

Sounds like good work.

Well, SOME applies to Police, Fire, and EMS locally. Each profession has some operators who sometimes let the adrenaline get the better of them.

Let's face it. If you backed McCain before the debate, you naturally believe he 'won'. If you backed Obama before the debate, you naturally believe he 'won'.

Fifteen out of 250 are active firefighters? That's 6% of their membership who are active firefighters!

That's not how it works. You make claims - you back them up.

Four males fighting, one with a knife. Parking lot by the gym.

Please don't provide these "lists" unless you also intend to provide citations. Many of your "points" have long been disproven by credible agencies. Haven't we previously discussed where our country is headed when voters are making their "informed" decisions based on random emails??? If you are going to choose to provide this list concerning one candidate, please provide the random emails for both candidates. I mean if this is truly how we are making our decisons, let's exponentially increase the absurdity! What a sad commentary...

And the problem, quite simply.... People are still falling for these scams at amazing rates. At any given time, ALMOST HALF of all the cases sitting on my desk are these scams. New victims come in almost daily, telling their tale of how they got "taken in" by these scams. Percent solved? Roughly 0%.

That's not 100% correct. In NYS at least (I know little of Conn. Law), Emergency responders can only traverse private property without permission if there is an emergency on that property OR if the only feasible access to an emergency scene means having to enter private property. i.e. A plane crashed in someones yard, PD/EMS/Fire may enter the property even if the property owner objects OR the plane has crashed in a location wherein the ONLY FEASIBLE access to the crash site involves entering private property, even if the owner objects. In the Church scenario, there is really no law or case law in NYS giving EMS the absolute right to enter that property for the sole purpose of an intercept. Connecticiut Law may address this, I don't know.

Organized search for burglary suspects. Incident location, Boston Post Rd, C/Rye.

MVPD reporting the fatal shooting of a MVPD Officer in the Parking Garage across from PD HQ. MVPD Comm. reports that "are not looking for any suspects."

I will have to respectfully disagree on that.

Not automatically, I don't believe. As has been discussed here countless times, usually pertaining to land-based MVA's, it's always a complicated question with countless different opinions.

That's what Law Enforcement does. They investigate to determine if an offense has been committed or not. You do that by talking to the driver, passengers, etc.
-
Although the S.O. seemed out of line, the jurisdictional issue is mute: NYS CPL 20.40 (4)[d]: "An offense committed on board a vessel navigating or lying in any river, canal or lake flowing through or situated within this state, may be prosecuted in any county bordering upon such body of water, or in which it is located, or through which it passes; and if such offense was committed upon a vessel operating as a common carrier, it may be prosecuted in any county bordering upon any body of water upon which such vessel navigated or passed during the particular trip." NYS CPL 20.40 (4)[c]: An offense committed within five hundred yards of the boundary of a particular county, and in an adjoining county of this state, may be prosecuted in either such county.

I agree. Poorly written story, short on facts.

I could not agree more!
