Where'd you get that information?
-
For the State Police it's 6 years. Normal cut-off of 30 years old (on the date of the written exam, not appointment), which can be extended up to age 36 if you had 6 years of military.

Similar issue facing the current City of Albany Police Chief.

That's a little misleading. Although I disagree with her NH20 decision, statistics bear out that her decisions are upheld at a higher rate than most Circuit judges. Interestingly enough, she has issued several decisions that were very pro-law enforcement, which I was glad to see.

That's the point. She wouldn't participate in the SC hearings. It actually benefits the NH20. Now ABADUCK, unfortunately, with Souter, it will be a 5-4 decision, with Souter most likely siding with the City. With Souter not voting and Sotomayor not participating (if the vote came up next term, which it will not), it would benefit the NH20 more so. Because that shipped has sailed, so to speak, it's all a wash now either way. Make sense?

Actually, from a strictly procedural point of view, it would benefit the NH20 to have had the case heard AFTER the new Justice starts.

Not to mention the IBM and Pepsi campuses.

Times are getting tough, and no one is safe anymore. The article could use more facts, less opinion (even though it's an op-ed piece.)

Solution: Don't "fly" to anything recklessly! Respond with due regard to each and every alarm.

Yonkers?!

A few things come to mind here. 1) You level of maturity with some of your comments devalues your standing. You may have something significant to say, but when you debase yourself to name calling, you lose your edge. 2) Just because many disagree with you, it fails to prove or disprove your point. Welcome to America, we can agree to disagree. A topic like the one you have started here is not black and white, no matter how much you wish it is. 3) Your upset that many have failed to "answer" your question to your satisfaction. You in turn have failed to answer several of the follow up questions. Don’t take these debates so personally. Be the mature professional.

Personally speaking, I only feel comfortable on commenting/criticizing the community in which I live. This is the community I pay taxes in. I don't see how I have any standing in critiquing other communities. I don't live in (insert any Town, City, Village here), so what right do I have to complain about how they allocate their funding? My question is, how many of the people on this thread have publicly voiced concerns? I don't mean here on Bravo, behind a screenname. Ever go to the City/Town/Village Board meeting and raise these issues? If not, I feel it's a little hypocritical. As an example, the Hastings Chief seems to have been a focus here. Has anyone been to a meeting of the Hastings Village Board and voiced their concerns? Commented to the Hastings Fire Commissioners? Taken any official action? And, if you don’t live in Hastings and pay Hastings taxes, I really don’t see the point. You can insert any locale in place of Hastings. If you haven't, then, ...?

That starting salary is pretty low. Connecticut is not a cheap state to live in.

I think that was Tommy's (and my point). Picking and choosing, age old problem. But now, a rig can't get out for a signifcant trauma/StatFLight job? That's a sign things have gotten very bad. Picking and choosing has always been wrong, but let's face it, it was a fact. The fact that an ambulance didn't arrive on this scene for as long as it did, and StatFlight had to be considered as a primary transport vehicle, I'm not even sure what to say! I'm almost speechless.

Tom- You took the words right out of my mouth. As I had to go in early today to handle the investigation related to the call your referring to, I had the same thoughts you did. I can remember back to when the 3:30 a.m. nursing home fall couldn't muster a crew, but never the roll-over, the structure fire, the shooting, etc, etc. This morning's incident seriously made me think we have "crossed the line."

Just vans maybe? We're still getting 2008/09 CVPI with wig wags.

There's a problem with your story. The LPR doesn't hit on Expired Registrations, therefore, your friends didn't tell you the whole story.

Current active shooter scenarios, as has been mentioned, no longer bring a "contain the perimiter" mentality. That's why field personnel (in any agency taking this seriously) have instructed all field personnel in how to engage active shooters. Many agencies, NYSP and other County/Local PD's also deploy rifle-equiped cars on patrol. If I remember the story correct, two of the four fatalities in Oakland were of SWAT Members, no?

The Endangerment it a Misd. Forgery and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument are Felonies.
