"Picture it" 1995.... My 1st CPR was actually on my first Ambulance call ever whenI was with Irvington VAC in high school I was 17 years old. I was an old lady that I did it on. I was 0-4 lifetime CPR average. The Doctor in Dobbs ferry ER said I had very good CPR Skills. It was very strange and I felt bad because it was the 1st time I saw someone die. Like another member posted the "disconnect" you get and your training kicks in and you go to work.

Its the old "risk" vs "Reward" What or how much risk in a sistuation vs. The outcome/reward I may be a bit off but from what reading the prior posts that was my concolusion

Off all the cities they have to do this "classified operation" with and for a photo op. It was only 8 years ago when 2 747's crashed into the trade center killing 3000 plus people. Nice job Commish's Kelly, McGoo and Mayor Bloomturd Chris

Not to stir the pot some more but, just a few observations I have seen and wanted to share them. Every weekday I take the 630 train into the city from Tarrytown, and I see a Fire Chiefs Car from "_____ Fire department" in rockland county parked in one of the 2 non resident lots and takes the same train as me. I think its pretty crazy this Chief is working in the city and the chiefs car is parked in westchester. IF all you are using it for is a station car let it stay in the village and use your personal car. Another thing out Queens and a few in manhattan are Volunteer Chiefs car's outside of city firehouses from Volunteer FD's in Long Island and so forth.

on our 2 ambulances we have a toggle switch that when you flip it, you can turn the ignition and take the key out with the eng. still running. If you step on the break with the key out it shuts off. I think its the say system another member posted.

One thing I was thinking about while reading this topic is, security of the PC as well as the Data on the computer because You have people's medical history right at your finger tips. With the ePCR's and stuff is there encription and stuff built in and also what about computer acess? Just somthing to think about? Chris

Cafe press.com from what it seems that you design your own stuff and they print it on demand, Instead of odering it in bulk

a "blue light" or even a "green light" in a persons car or truck is only a courtesy light. It doesn't give you the right to speed, run red lights or act like a idoit. I had a blue light in my truck, however it got stolen when I was working on brush ave in the south bronx. The most accidents and fatialities are responding and returning from calls. The Fire call will still be there if it takes you an extra few seconds to get to the fire house. Another point too with all the light some people have installed (dash lights, strobes, wig wags, etc) When you have all that suff on it looks like a christmas tree, some motorist on the road just freeze up and don't know what do to and just stop when you are coming up on them. the Point to my story is Respond safely to the calls and obey all the traffic laws. Just my 2 cents.

Also too Its hard to fire a cop due to civil service rules and regulations along with the Union so, that an't going to happen..
-
If he got hurt on the scene of the fire he would be covered under works comp or LODI.

I have been looking at some civilian Jobs with the Military and they are looking for D.o.D. Certification Firefighter 1, Fire Inspector 1, etc. My questions is what is the process in getting DOD certified? (i.e. classes you can take) or Can you submit you past training classes and take a general test for it. (like N.F.P.A.) Thanks for all your info. Chris

They deserve what they got.

Here is my guess, could it a car used for construction or the "wide load" escort cars? Just a shot in the dark

In the Pictures what is the point of wearing the air pack if you aren't going to mask up? Use the stuff that was issued to you its plain and simple.
