Date: 03-23-10 Time: 1558hrs Location: 376 Saw Mill River Rd., Greenburgh Frequency: NYSP TMC dispatched 3K12, 3K13 to above address for an officer assistance call. NYSP units canceled en-route, situation under control. Anyone have any idea what happened? GPD members ok?
-
Seth, thanks for finding this. I just happened to hear the NYSP units get sent on this and was concerned for the MOS. Waaaaay to much violence against LEO's lately. I hate to assume because you know what that leads to, but; an 18-year-old from North Salem at a housing complex in Greenburgh? Doubt he was there to pick up his friends for church mass. 16 and 18 year-olds fighting with police, unbelievable. Hope they get charged to the fullest and ALL charges stick. Speedy revovery to Officers Dicairano and Buccheri.

John, thanks for posting this. Being OOS, ive been out of the loop for a bit. Ive done this the past couple of years at the Buchanan Baskin Robins and its usually a big hit. If nothing else, its great PR in the community and a generous donation by BR. ajsbear, its up to the individual owner/operators of the BR to advertise for this event. Some may not even know much about it, so its always good to inquire within.

Wow, thanks for the info guys. I didnt realize how prevalent Isuzu was/is on the truck market.

Yeah, the SP units were definately cancelled quickly, which hopefully was a good thing.

ltx17, Thanks for the update, much appreciated. Lord knows we cant count on the media to update us lol. Never good to hear when any MOS is injured, but glad they were relatively minor injuries and theyre doing well. Speedy recovery to them. Thanks again

Hey Izzy, Funny you mention Isuzu as i was thinking about this recently. You see these Isuzu cab/chassis everywhere, but rarely on emergency service apparatus (at least in the States). I know of an FD in Jersey that uses one as a rescue or special ops rig, i believe its the Budd Lake FD. We have an Isuzu dealer right on the Peekskill/Cortlandt border that is a full service dealer/repair shop. Im curious how an Isuzu cab/chassis would hold up in such an application?

Heard this as well. My guess would be a water-main break or other water emergency within Eastchester?

Wow, thats crazy how long it took for the MAYDAY to be answered, totally unacceptable. Also crazy that a City such as Cincinnati uses the same frequency for dispatch and fireground op's.

Captain, great website indeed! I really like the "FAQ" section which breaks down the FD's different jobs so that John Q. Public can understand. Nice pictures as well. Keep up the great work NRFD.

DAMN YOU Chris, now im really confused . 61MACKBR1...We would NEVER confuse ourselves or our equipment with YFD or New Ro FD, no comparison, obviously. But, yes, on a more serious note. The committee worked hard to design this rig to fit our needs and more importantly, fit in the firehouse lol. The new rig does appear small, but actually has a good ammount of storage. There are no plans what-so-ever to keep the old rescue (bread truck), as we have no need, nor room for it. It is for sale and will be available upon the arrival of the new rig. There was talks of placing our "non-essential" equipment, such as our pumps and extra haz-mat equipment in our utility trailer. However, im not sure if thats still going to happen.

Happy St. Pats Hope everyone has a fun and safe one!
-
Wait...we're getting a new Rescue ? PFDRes47cue, it is replacing the current rescue, the 1975 stepvan, which will be for sale. As for the length of the new rig, its shoooort lol. Not sure exactly, but bfd161 can answer that.
-
Ill "3rd" that lol. Yes, great job with the laddering for sure. This is a very important task on any fireground, not to mention on a house of this size. Making any sort of cut must have been a tough job between the slate and peak. Nice work to HFD and all m/a companies.
-
Chris, Its a Metz (i believe built in Germany) aerial on a Spartan (?) chassis. I know in speaking to some of their guys, they're not that happy with it. But that was a couple of years ago. Its an interesting rig for sure.
-
Brian, amazing pictures as always, thank you for sharing. I love the action shots that catch the working faces and expressions.
-
Awesome lol, only you could come up with this bro. Actually, that bread truck look bigger. We could use that as our "heavy rescue"
-
Very sad indeed. Condolences do his family, friends and BFFD. RIP

Wow, nice shots guys! I first heard of this on Snews 12 last night (they reported a 5th alarm). 4th alarm in the Y-O, must have been some job! From the shots the guys have shared, kudos go out to the YFD/YPD/Empress! YFD did a hell of a job with what they were faced with. Hope the Mayor and City Council were paying attention!

Wooooow....speechless lol. Thats nice of the ex-husband to take the drive with her to se her boyfriend . Safe to say this lady isn't good at multi-tasking.

Thank you for the info Captain. Id imagine having a stream-lined fleet is much more manageable for the mechanics. Again, nice lookking rig and best of luck to SFRD.
