Ang, great ladder placement in this photo (2nd Pic, since it wont import into my post)...someone threw a ground ladder up 3 or 4 houses down, very progressive, pro-active thinking .

Ang, great shots and thanks for sharing. Just re-read the IA and saw that the job was at 1630hrs...nothing like a fire at the hottest part of the day in July! Hope all the guys and gals stayed hydrated and were able to rotate.

Im leaving in a few minutes to head to my friends Lake House for the weekend...not the thread i wanted to see/read lol. All seriousness, definately a scary thing that many people wouldnt think of. Ill be more cognisent of my surroundings in the water from now on. RIP to the victims, what a horrible tragedy. Thoughts and prayers to the others who were injured, as well as their friends and families.

Barry, I too have seen many a homeowner try to hide or camouflage fire hydrants. This has always concerned me and makes me scratch my head. Hydrants are there for a good reason; the protection (hopefully) of your home, as well as your neighbors. Now, from a Code Enforcement stand-point, is there any regulations or enforcement in regard to keeping hydrants clear/visable?

Jet, I too read this article and was disgusted. This "man" calls the Police to report a disturbance at his store and ends up in the middle of the scuffle? Why not just leave it up to the professionals, the PO(s) who responded to his call? Maybe because he thinks he can do whatever the hell he wants to do as Mayor? He not only gets in the middle of this nonsense, but ends up injuring a police officer in the process! Im certainly glad that he was properly charged, i just hope the charge sticks. The article also states that he plead guilty on charges of selling counterfeit sneakers in his store. Sounds to me like this guys ethics are certainly questionable, no? The article also states that he "heads a police commision monitoring the department's spending and complaints." Now, i would assume that this is part of his role as Mayor. However, for someone who has had his own run-ins with the Police, he has no business overseeing such a comminsion in my opinion. I for one wouldnt want this clown overseeing anything, much less a Village government.

I had Chief Keinz as my instructor for FF Survival many years ago. He was all about the Fire Service and truly dedicated to Training and his Profession. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family, friends and the WPFD.

York Beach E-3, a 199?'s E-One. Wells, Maine Fire Station Kittery, Maine Police - Car-5. I took this picture outside of the Kittery Trading Post (or i as call it, a gun owners heaven). KPD was outside helping with a fund raiser.

Last weekend, i stayed in York Beach, Maine for a little vacation time. This was my first time staying in this exact area and i must say, it was great. It is a perfect spot for couples or families, with plenty of things to keep busy. As this was a family trip, i didnt get to "buff" as much as i could have. However, i was able to get some shots as we were out and about. First up; York Police Department Tahoe This is a shot of the York Beach Firehouse. Unfortunately, i could not fit the whole startion into the picture. This is York Beach E-5 on a Peterbuilt chassis (bad a$$ in my opinion) York Beach Ladder-1 York Beach R-1 York Beach R-3 York Beach's new E-One Typhoon Engine. It was in a tight bay, sorry for the poor quality photo.

Activists and Civil Liberties leaders are calling for a moratorium on Taser use following the death of a man who was tased by police. http://hudsonvalley.ynn.com/content/top_stories/589608/vt--activists-demand-taser-moratorium/ This article is short and leaves me with several questions. But if the LEO(s) involved in this incident felt as though they were presented with a threat, then it sounds like the right move. If they felt threatened, then they most certainly had every right to use whatever force nessisary to stop that threat. In this case, they chose to deploy a taser as a non-lethal force option. Unfortunately, a man died as the result. The bigger result (IMO), was that nobody else, LEO or otherwise, was injured by this subject. I am going to do a search though to find out more info on this story.

DO IT, you will not regret it! SkyDive the Ranch is an awesome place with great staff and relaxed atmosphere. As i said in my earlier post, my wife took me for my birthday a few years ago and i absolutely loved it. If its something you only do once or you go on to get certified, its definately something to put on your "bucket list." Hell, my father paid for my mother to go for her 65th Birthday lol! If you have any doubts, ill let ya watch my video or my mothers. Just a word of advice; do all of the paperwork online before you get there. This way you'll be basically ready to go when you arrive for your scheduled jump. Have a blast and oh, just remember to BREATHE lol!

John, my wife and I went skydiving there a few years ago for my birthday. When anyone says they've went or they are going, it's usually to SkyDive The Ranch. You can't beat the thrill and feeling of it. Unfortunately, like with anything else, accidents happen. RIP to the victims. My heart goes out to their family, friends, other instructors and anyone who witnessed this.
