Specs on the rigs are as follows; Hale QMax 2000 gpm single stage pumps with the new "K" Gear Box. These two pumpers are the first ever to receive these new gear box's which are designed to reduce the db level significantly. They also have Detriot Series 60 motors, Allisson EVS-4000 transmissions and Telma retarders. They also have a few "Perks" thrown in by Ferrara which we'll reveal after they are delivered. They leave Ferrara's plant Saturday morning. I'll send some shots to Seth by Friday.
-
City of Mount Vernon also has 2 pumpers on the site. They should be delivered around Christmas.

Our deepest condolences for your loss. May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time. God Bless. GODSPEED JIMMYBOY

The News gets even worse! Stay tuned for yet another major development between NYC and Seagrave.
-
Yes, Seagrave does own Aerialscope for the time being. There's been rumor that they may sell it off. It doesn't make sense, but that's what's going around.
-
Don't bet on it.
-
In all likelyhood, LTI will probably be picked up by Crimson Fire Apparatus and RD Murray will go back on thier own as they have been looking to do for some time now. As far as the cab and chassis division goes, I believe we've seen the last of them. I may be wrong, but we'll see...................

We are working closely with Chris Ferrara and everyone at Ferrara to help them with this tremendous relief and support effort. EWFAC will be heading down to Ferrara in the coming days to assist our friends in their operation to support our brothers who are rescuing the victims of the Hurricane. If you are planning to help with supplies please contact us at www.ewfac.com and email us at info@ewfac.com because they are overwhelmed down there and we can coordinate things from our area and we will post specific requests as we get them from Ferrara. Thank you.

The Satellites are on the way up from Ferrara's plant. They wanted to get them out of there before "Katrina" hit!!
-
It means, down the assembly line 6 1/2 hours, start to finish.
-
1. The reason why FDNY is not buying from Pierce is simply because Pierces' policy is "we'll build anything you want as long as we can build it in 6 1/2 hours". That's as far as they were willing to go to accomodate FDNY. That's also why their build quality has gone down hill. 2. As far as Ferrara goes: when Ferrara came to FDNY they said "what do we need to do to build apparatus for FDNY" They were shown what FDNY requires of thier apparatus and Ferrara said "Ok, we got it" Not only did they meet the requirements, but in some cases they exceeded them! So far they have done 29 pieces for FDNY and I feel confident that they will do more. Ferrara is very upcoming and innovative and they are committed to becoming a leader as an apparatus manufacturer. Chris Ferrara has a great product and a very dedicated team, if I were you I'd keep a close eye on them! Stay tuned..........................

Delivery may be delayed until the end of the week.

The new Tower 1 is being delivered Monday July 25th.
-
IT WILL BE HERE SOMETIME NEXT WEEK L-3 IS FORSALE I'm not sure it will be here that quick. More likely 2-3 weeks unless something has changed?
-
EWFAC has a relationship with a couple of used apparatus dealers. We have been asked by FDMV to list L-3 with these dealers to put it up for sale. No further details at this time. As far as where the new Tower Ladder will be assigned my guess is what was previously stated: Station 3 replacing L-3.

Just got the update on the Tower Ladder. The rig is completed and only a handful of minor issue to correct. Unfortunatley, it looks like the rig WILL NOT be at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore next month. In all probability, the rig will probably be on it's way to Mt. Vernon in 2-3 weeks. It looks real sharp and I should have pictures to post by late Thuraday or early Friday. That's the update.

The Tower Ladder is a Seagrave 95' Aerialscope as previously stated. The final inspection trip is scheduled for June 20-23rd. If the rig is accepted it will most likely be at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore July 26th through 30th. As far as the Ferrara Engines they will not make it to the Baltimore Show as also stated. They are on Ultra cabs that will not be completed until early August. We are working on having them in FDIC East in Atlantic City October 3rd to 6th. We also anticipate Pleasantville FD's 2 new Ferrara's to make FDIC East as well. That's the latest news as it stands now. I'll post more as I get it.

Actually, the inside word is that this Pierce Rescue is going to be tested out by Rescue 1.

Take a look at our website. Feel free to contact us if you are in the market for new apparatus. www.ewfac.com

They just started production of 13 new episodes last month. A good friend of mine is the Stunt Coordinator on the show and he said Dennis Leary wanted to wait and shoot some episodes in the winter for a different look. I'll keep you posted on any news I find out.

CFD320 Wrote: I don't claim to know anything about Trucks other than how nice they look. And always thought Seagrave was the best available. But, I play softball in a FDNY league and all of those guys absolutely hate their Seagraves (rivets are the major problem I hear). True, Seagrave did have a major problem with the rivets on some FDNY rigs. The problem has been corrected.

Mount Vernon back in the 80's had 3 Tillers. They were 60 something LaFrances and they had one re-furbed around 85 or 86. This was the one that flipped over at a job in the early 90's. They also had a Segrave they borrowed from FDNY for a while but it had to go back. Tillers were a great truck for mount vernon and something they should seriously consider bringing back.

Thank you for the compliments. We are going to be updating the site soon and will be posting pictures of some recent work. We always welcome the input. EWFAC

FDMV's new Seagrave 95' Tower is slated to be built along with another dept's (unknown who) 95' before Seagrave goes into production of 11 FDNY 75' footers sometime around May or June. Right now this is all tentative but looks like it will happen. Possibly they could see the rig around July although anything can change. As far as the Ferrara engines they are scheduled to be built and you may be able to see them at Firehouse Expo in Baltimore in July. Ladder 3 did have the motor and tranny redone and there is no talk of re-furbing anything else at this point ($$$$). The only talk was of doing something with R1 as a re-chassis possibilty but again $$$$. We'll see..............................
