I agree with McSorely911, you need to consolidate and streamline. You have too many sites and your spread too thin. Have one main site ( either .com or .net ) and incorporate the other sites into it. I believe most members come to the site to see what's currently going on. I know I do. Not so much a picture of an old out of service rig in the rear of a DPW yard in California. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just realistic. I know you enjoy taking picture but in light of your current situation you could just post pictures that are submitted for now and I don't think anyone will mind. As far as membership fee's go, I know you have said you don't like to charge for the site but I think most of us would rather join than see it go away. So why not have both. Keep a portion of it free ( maybe just a restricted viewable option) and charge a membership fee to allow those who want to post and view premium content. Maybe even an incident alert notification service may be something to consider. Just an idea. Whatever you decide to do I'm sure most members will support. I realize this thing may have grown too fast and got away from you, sometimes success can be dangerous. Good Luck

Classic Motorola - buy your competitor!

Rest in peace Brother. May God watch over your family. Condolences to E249 & the FDNY. Too young - too soon - too many!

They are an independent group with members in the tri-state area. I use to belong to it years ago. If I remember right, they don't really offer it to you unless you are refered by someone. I believe their repeater is on the Alpine Tower in NJ.

Congratulations to both the Village of Larchmont and the Career staff on this decision. Hopefully now they can move forward and spend their efforts on providing their services to the taxpayers of Larchmont and stop wasting taxpayer dollars as well as time and effort on counter-productive, frivolous lawsuits!

From what I've heard the Pumpers are supposed to be Split-Tilt cabs.

Deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of these 2 Firefighters. Another tragic blow to the FDNY. Ironically, FF Beddia gave this interview about the Brothers he lost on 9/11 http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?g=289d...00&fg=email RIP Brothers

If only the Brass was that devoted to real issues; like unsafe apparatus, deteriorating firehouses, not enough money for necessary equipment. You know......... the un-important stuff!! Incredible, but totally believable in this day and age.

Dang, I'm soo out of touch working mids now. How do they look? I didn't get a good look at them, saw them from a distance.
-
I still haven't heard anything on the Smeal's yet, I think more towards the spring they should be in North Haven. ← I saw the aerial ladders there 2 weeks ago.

You expect me to remember that far back Hudson? I was in Class 04-88 and I think we were 37 total?

A real shame to lose the only Patrol left in the country. Best wishes to all it's members in their future. This is a dispicable display of greed by the NYBFU they should be ashamed of themselves. They have more money than anyone can imagine and disbanding the Patrol just proves where their priorities lie. I hope that NYC realizes what was lost here today. R.I.P. Keith Roma

From what I have read on their website www.fpny123.net they go before the city council tomorrow 10/4 night. As far as I know, it doesn't look good for them. Unfortunately, the insurance companies are far too powerful in this country. It's a shame to loose the Fire Patrol and almost 100 good guys will loose their jobs! I'll keep my fingers crossed.........................

What is on the back of the rig???? It's a crane.

According to the Fire Patrols website: www.fpny123.net they are due to be shut down on October 15th, 2006. On their website they have posted info for a support rally at Patrol Station #2 on W. 3rd Street in Greenwhich Village on Sunday September 17th from 11am to 4pm. I'm sure they would welcome all the support we can offer. As a former member of Patrol 2 (1987) it would be a shame to see them disbanded.

The next time you think of heroes ..ie. sports, entertainment etc.....do u think a sports figure or entertainer would come out in the middle of the night to pull u or your kids out of a burning building? My thoughts exactly. We idolize sports and entertainment figures and pay them rediculous amounts of money while most of us in firefighting struggle to take care of our families. Our priorities are way off. Rest in Peace Brother May God watch over those who Love you.
