  1. How do you know what kind of less than lethal weapons the Trooper has? OC against a 13inch knife is not going to work. Maybe a you could tase this subject. Or maybe hand to hand. Give me a break. Almost everyone on our job carries a Taser when they are working. I happen to be one that isn't trained yet. Give me this situation with a man walking towards me with a 13" blade not listening to my REPEATED INSTRUCTIONS to drop the weapon I am not going to pull out my OC. I am going to pull out my GUN. Whatever happens after that is in GOD'S HANDS.
  2. JJB can you send us a flyer? I am on Vaca so I will be attending.
  3. Hey after repeated requests this guy got what he deserved. Although it may be Traumatic, he and all LE's are hopefully prepared for a situation like this. Better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6.
  4. From the way it sounds, this guy has had his share of COCKTAILS. Leave it to Jersey to have some kind of screwed up JOB. Are they going to wait for him to kill someone before they do something about it? See know if I pulled this guy over, I would lock him up.
  5. I really hope that the VOLLEY doesn't have and IAFF sticker on his/her car. Also depends on where the VOLLEY is from and again, his/her attitude. It isn't just FF's I do that for either if you get my drift. I try and accomadate everyone if I can.
  6. Obviously the decal you get when you are a Paid FF is a dead giveaway. Does it make me not pull you over. NO. Because most of the time it is a member of your family that is driving the car. Do I give courtesy? Sometimes. Depends on your Attitude. Now you add alcohol to the mix. I use my judgment. I can honestly say that I will take your keys and your license and let you find your own way home. Maybe if you live in Town I will drive you home. But in know way do you drive home if I pull you over and you have been drinking. Not if you live on the next block. I am not going to risk my career for you. Besides, how can you ever help me? I live in a Town where there is only VOLUNTEERS.
  7. A switchblade actually opens with the touch of a button. Most lock blade knives can be opened with a flick of the wrist. They are very common and can be considered a gravity knife but I don't think that anybody really enforces it.
  8. I actually knew one of the instructors from last season. Awesome guy. Crazy Marine. Not doing this season because he got promoted. Was funny to watch him on the big screen then talk to him in person.
  9. I didn't read the article does it say if they members would be or are keeping them in their vehicles? If so, they might have to worry about somebody stealing them out of the car. They could bring them in the house but then you have to worry about them not grabbing when in a hurry.
  10. Got ya. That sucks. The arbitrator should be shot.
  11. JJB then why settle on this contract? You guys have held up this long, hold out longer. Or you can just come to Westchester and not deal with the BS.
  12. That is what I was trying to find out. Sounds like and EMS show but who knows. Saw it while setting up DVR for next week.
  13. Then where would everyone hang out?
  14. Actually we have enough OIL in the US to survive for at least 20 years. In that time alot can happen. We can take over The Middle East and never have to worry again. Or in that 20 years we can come up with another solution to the problem. So to think that we will run out is silly. We can lower the prices and SAVE THE ECONOMY.
  15. I hope I did this right. I don't know how to post the link so I posted the whole article. Says the author and where it was from so I don't think I broke the law. Sorry if I did. Full Story Link: http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...382/1018/NEWS02 I guess the main question is why would he just leave his gun on a bench? Why wasn't it holstered? This situation could have been worse.
  16. Chris could you imagine if you had to pay to fill up your HELI? How much would that be?
  17. Citgo in Valhalla has the cheapest I have seen. Shell in N White Plains is always cheaper than everyone else.
  18. I would have to agree that mostly wives and children use the pass but it still saves a family about $500 for 4months and that is not counting crappy weather days either. I would gladly take it for free. The problem would be abuse. That is sad but it is reality. I am beginining to see more and more that people don't have any MORALS. How do they figure on a tax form what you spent? Do you have a seperate car just for driving to the VAC? Of course you don't. Prob about 4+ miles to the VAC right? So if you do 500 calls a year how much do you save? Just curious as I have never heard that you can write it off. I know that you can write off miles or something by going to a "B" job.
  19. The point is people are complaining about the Gas prices because they volunteer. Well I'm saying not only do you get to get up in the middle of the night to help someone for free, but now when you wake up the next day you can go to the POOL FOR FREE as well.
  20. In some towns you get a FREE POOL PASS for the SUMMER if you are a VOLUNTEER whether it be FD or VAC. And let me tell you, it isn't cheap to go to the pool if YOU HAVE TO PAY. If you work for a CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE you should be able to fill up once a week at the HOUSE GAS PUMPS. Let's face it, Cities/Town/Villages aren't paying top dollar for gas or they would be bankrupt. OF course the gas is proably mixed with Vinegar or something but the Trucks, cars keep on running. Good standing members of the above get a swipe card and a pin number and it will only work once a week. It would save some of you a little money wouldn't it? Of course you would have those not so honest people fill like 100 5gal cannisters at a single time.
  21. You know it is bad when Hawaii is right around our prices. I remember when I was there it was high but now it just seems like the norm. If we weren't so cheap as a Nation to dig into our OWN OIL REFINERIES then we wouldn't have this problem. Stop bying from other Countries. Buy it from within and help the Economy two fold. In our pockets and in the Deficit. As of right now it is 9,340,689,509,227.85. The estimated population of the United States is 303,910,220 so each citizen's share of this debt is $30,735.03. Now wonder why my credit rating is so low. LOL
  22. I guess that would end the bashing wouldn't it? Almost like your SYBLIL with all the jobs you have to do. Talk about Jack of all trades Master of none.
  23. No silly questions, just silly people. Where was your KNOW NOTHING KNOWLEDGE ON THAT ONE?
  24. The only time I don't have a chambered round is when I am cleaning my gun.
  25. When you have the BEST SPECIAL FORCES in the WORLD of course the security in ISRAEL is going to be great. I am not knocking our SPECIAL FORCES but the ISRAELIS wrote the book. It also helps that every Citizen in Israel has to serve in a Branch of the Military. There was better security in Maui, HI airport then any airport I have ever flown so far. And that is to get on a puddle jumper to Ohua.
