There are no side effects between a Taser and OC.

Detective is not a rank in police work but is instead a 'special designation' meaning that one has special skills over and above being a police officer that allows one to perform their jobs correctly. This means that a detective is, instead of only being a person that investigates, is a person that is on special assignment. NYPD is the perfect example of this. Police officers that have been seriously wounded but return to duty are made detectives. People with special training, like ESU or Aviation are detectives, they just don't (usually) do long term investigation of crimes that were committed in the past.

It was so sureal to be there, I had just seen him the day before he died and he was his regular happy, friendly self. There is and always be a hole in my heart for that kid.

I really don't want to release his name, but his father and sister are both cops in Westchester. The family is distraught as are all of the people that he knew. He really was a great kid that will most definitely be missed greatly.

What's wrong? 1.)You didn't cite the source of the picture. 2.The picture size is too small. 3.The white balance is off. I could go on and on....

OLM*EMS is officially dead. 15Victor, the ALS bus is now gone, moved over to FDNY EMS. The BLS buses of OLM are now MonteNorth buses run by TransCare (the exact same buses as the Monte/Einstein ambulances, but with the old OLM bus numbers 2836, etc...). The OLM employees are now TransCare employees, however there is still a 'OLM EMS' supervisor that is their Hospital EMS Administrator. The old OLM medics are on the MonteNorth buses as BLS for right now, at medic pay. Montefiore definitely doesn't own LifeLine Ambulance, the ambulance that looks like the FDNY ones.

Making an awful lot of assumptions I see. The horses, trailer, training and food were all paid for by the Mount Vernon Police Foundation, a non-for-profit benefitting the MVPD. The city only pays for the officers salary. If you want better funding for FDMV, you have to make a stink about it. MV is known as a relatively high crime area, so the citizens will throw money at PD, but since FD is hidden away in the firehouses and most peoples houses are not burning down, they really don't care.

They do, every ambulance in the 911 system has a GPS box/computer in the vehicle. However the system is far from foolproof.

I can understand if a major event is unfolding (like 9/11 or a major crash0 and news needs to be disseminated, but what is the point of posting an incident alert for something that occurred more than 12 hours ago? Going through the incident alert forums I see page after page of incident alerts posted more than 6 hours after the event (usually something small in scale with no need for discussion either) and there is NEVER a reply to the incident alert or any other information posted. I'm not complaining per se, but I just don't see the point. Can someone fill me in on why we need to know about a small fire 12 hours after it happened?

Uh, no. I don't even look at fire ones....

If you are patrolling solo you don't use non-lethal weapons against a person armed with a deadly weapon, its a recipe for disaster.

It's usually up to interpretation, but having the lights installed is not illegal, displaying them (turning them on) is.

Actually now that I think about it, its definitely St. Barnabas Hospital.
