All too often we forget the family of our brothers in blue. Godspeed Captain Sullivan.

Wow, what a tragedy. My condolences to his family and friends.

You will truly be missed Reggie, that million dollar smile of yours was truly one of a kind. Love ya kid.

It clearly states in the article that the ACS has a pool of drivers and that Transcare will use/utilize its supervisors as 'rides' when ACS drivers aren't available.

The transcript shows that the dispatcher prioritized the call as a low priority call FOR PD. I don't quite think that they probed too deeply into the smell of gasoline for the FD side of the response but that's another story. What exactly did the dispatcher do 'wrong'? They got the information of the caller, got a description of the suspect and a location and said that they would be sending a deputy. I don't see negligence, malfeasance, or misfeasance. Dispatching is an imprecise science at best and no one script will EVER get the right information.

This thread is priceless and goes to show that we all THINK we know how to do each other's job, when in reality we most certainly don't. The thread started dropped a bomb, was proven wrong numerous times and now didn't chime back in to admit he was wrong. Priceless.

Finally, a positive story about emergency services.

Godspeed and RIP KT

It clearly states in the press release: "The new trucks were purchased with about $1.8 million in capital projects funds." The word 'grant' is not mentioned anywhere.
-
As per the City of Mount Vernon website: "The new trucks will be in service in approximately two weeks. The one pumper and the aerial truck will be housed at Station 2 on Fulton Avenue and the other engine at the Fire HQ on Lincoln Avenue." http://cmvny.com/2011/09/06/new-fire-trucks-delivered-to-city-of-mount-vernon/

Every police car and fire vehicle has an 'official' plate assigned to it, it just need not be attached to the vehicle while driving. Running the VIN will give the DMV assigned number.

Godspeed.

What a truly sobering experience. Godspeed Detective Falcone.

You can't sue unless you violate a law. There is no law broken. You can't sue.

Yonkers hires almost exclusively from there 'Resident' list. It is not in any way, shape or form against ANY law to establish a resident list.
