  6. HP 2nd Asst. Chief? =D> What is this world coming too? haha Congrats HP a dream came true, You worked for it! Good luck to all Somers FD officers Be safe and God bless!
  7. Where is "over here" the New York State Law on Scanners is pretty clear and covers all of New York State. Unless you are a Police Officer, Peace Officer in a Law Enforcement Agency or a licensed HAM you can not have a scanner in your car. We all walk a fine line having one but just gotta use your head. A lot of cops look the other way for Firefighters and EMT's and we are thankful for that. I think this topic has been covered enough, huh? haha
  8. I heard late spring / early summer. The next academy class is August so they will need to get the ball rolling....
  9. I heard the audio on NBC last night what a heartless #@%*!!! I know the stress levels related to Fire, Police, EMS 911 Dispatchers but...that is just unacceptable! It's happened before and it will happen again. We are human we all make mistakes but we are accountable for our actions. When you take an oath to serve the public that is what you must do so without prejudice to anyone or any situation. That CT Trooper should be fired! Suspended? What a joke.
  10. Peekskill Firefighters Association Local 2343 BLOOD DRIVE Friday, March 25, 2005 2 PM to 6 PM Held at Centennial Hose Co. # 4 701 Washington St. - Peekskill, NY Please contact FF Jim Travis at (914) 737-1355 to schedule an appointment * Positive ID required
  11. "Positive ID Required" haha Good point! I just retyped what was handed to me on the flyer. I guess "Valid ID" would be a better choice of words.
  12. Anyone notice all the working fires in the past couple of weeks? Just seems a lot more than usual. This past weekend you had several departments here in Westchester with working fires. "Westchester Is Burning" In Peekskill we have had our share. Keep up the good work brothers and BE SAFE!
  13. $ 1.35!!! =D>
  14. Peekskill FD 453.875 DPL 411 West Harrison FD 453.000 DPL 243
  15. Maybe they said the heck with you we are using the frequency! LOL =D>
  16. Do they know what a "10-10" is? =D> You have a lot of agencies on 46.26 such as Fire, EMS, and Police. Still a few departments left that are dispached by local PD. I say this because I asked a cop and I was told "yeah, that's a burglar alarm" I had to laugh because the guy honestly had no idea that on 46.26 a "10-10" meant SHUT UP! Having multiple agencies on one channel all using various 10-codes for FD, PD, EMS that is what happens. Think about it..... How many Police Departments in Westchester use 46.26 at times. Quite a few.... I would bet every PD has a different code for "10-10" and now they have to know the Fire codes too? CENTRAL FIRE & EMS DISPATCH FOR THE COUNTY
  17. I was also picking up NYPD on 453.000 What's odd is not only did we hear them but NYPD was able to hear us. I heard a NYPD unit call our WC Ladder 4. Someone's repeater is really messed up skipping frequencies. If someone did this as a prank, NOT FUNNY! This poses a great danger to NYPD Police Officers and we the Westchester Firefighters. It seems to have been corrected in the last few days. I have not heard NYPD. As far as the Briarcliff FD UHF link to 46.26 I have been hearing it loud and clear thru Croton, Ossining, Millwood, Briarcliff areas on my scanner that I DON'T have in my car. haha
  18. When is doubt send em out! PD, FD, EMS If not needed you can always send them home.
  19. AT NO POINT AND TIME DID I OR ANYONE IS THIS POST REFER TO WESTCHESTER AS YOU PUT "FIRE FACTORY" READ MY POST! The comments you made you should go back and read and chill out a little bit. Respect ones comments and opinions as we all do with yours. ROB LOVES YA...BE SAFE BRO! As I was saying.... A lot of working fires in Westchester and Putnam lately.. huh guys?
  20. Thanks guys!! (I think) haha =D>
  21. I had the pleasure of working with Dante a few times. (Empress EMS-1997) We always had some good laughs but got the job done. He will be missed. RIP Dante
  22. EMERGENCY! "Station 51 KMG-365" haha I would have to go with Backdraft. I enjoyed Ladder 49 but it got quite boring at times. I liked the action and the hollywood effects of Backdraft. "You Go, We Go"
  23. To the family, friends, and firefighters of Croton FD sorry for your loss.
  24. No comment on this new radio system. =D>
