Call me crazy (some will) =D> but you gotta hear this one. On 154.430 which is FDNY Citywide I heard a Dispatcher NOT FDNY with an obvious out of the area accent dispatching an Ambulance to a call for Diff. Breathing at the Harper Woods Condos with a cross street of Old Homestead. Bored... I began to search who this might be. I checked the FCC database of 154.430 for the NY, NJ, CT, and PA areas. I also did a search of "Harper Woods Condos" and I came across Harper Woods, Michigan. I checked Mapquest and guess what? They have a street called Old Homestead AND as per the FCC Database of MI various Emergency Services in Wayne County on 154.430 (Harper Woods is in Wayne County) Anyone monitor 154.430 and pick up radio transmissions from out of the area? I could understand NY, NJ, CT, PA areas coming over but MI? That is about 640 miles away... WOW

I am pretty sure a NYS law was passed not long ago that ALL schools must have an AED. I remember hearing something to that effect. The AED is pretty much Idiot Proof and will walk you thru the steps. As soon as the machine in opened or power turned on: 1. "Place Electrodes" 2. "Press to Analyze" (Some Analyze by themself) 3. "Stand Clear" 4. "Shock Indicated, Charging" (Note the cool charging sounds vary by unit) 5. "Press to Shock" You have Lifepack, Zoll, Cardiac Science, Laerdal, Etc... I hear ALSFirefighter teaches a good AED class. "YOU, GO CALL 911 AND GET AN AED"

I thought the show was good and very real. I was a little disapointed at the lack of "action" it got kinda boring but hey at least it was the real deal. How much editing do you think was done when the driver got lost going to the working fire? haha God Bless the Brothers of Baaaston FD! TWO THUMBS UP! =D>

ALS making sense? Usually does.... But why BASH having a Lounge? We need one obviously! If we have a Snow Stand-By, or better yet another Department is on Stand-By in our Station they have NOTHING! Is that fair? ALS you have a nice Lazy-Boy Recliner and a Bed right? Work with us, Support us, Don't bash us or the projects we are putting a lot of time into. Members of my company are trying to do something to make it a better environment to "hang out" and improve morale at the Station. Could you imagine pulling out of the Station with a Full Crew ready to go to work? Nice! Ideally it would be nice to have a large area to train indoor and outdoor. I agree with you 100%! We do have a meeting room that we've been doing just that. In fact I remember not long ago someone teaching a class at our Station. Don't we have a place called the Westchester County Fire Training Center? Thanks for the Support!

I attended the Funeral Services for my longtime pal Pete Lund with my 2nd Lt of E130. If you could ever use the word AMAZING to describe a Funeral Service Pete's was the one. You had well over a thousand Firefighters from various Departments on Long Island, FDNY R3, R2, R1, L120, Kentland FD in MD, Boston FD, Chicago FD, Illionis FD, and on... It was a very sad day but the turnout of Firefighters I am sure made the Lund family so proud. Signal 5-5-5-5 has been transmitted. God Bless you Pete!
