  5. Anyone who monitors Putnam County 911 knows they have a problem. We can bash the "Pro's" and "Con's" of this ALL day and night but I have a lot of respect for Putnam County for a few reasons. 1. Recognizing you have a problem! 2. Actions to make improvements! 3. Most important above all ego's is something we seem to forget.... PATIENT CARE! Maybe some other EMS agencies and Counties can learn from this. Hat's off to Putnam County! Good luck. Just my Two Cents.....Enough said.

  21. The City of New York DEP and DEP Police is in the process of setting up a new radio system which will enable them to communicate too ALL the DEP units. This is a Trunked System with several towers which will also be tied into the City of New York DoITT. This is part of the "Passport System" provided by Goosetown Radio Communications. Tower Sites: 51 Pomona - Rockland County 52 Valhalla - Westchester County 55 Glen Spey - Sullivan County 56 Beacon - Dutchess County 57 Esopus - Ulster County 58 Sam's Point - Ulster County 59 Warwick - Orange County 61 Liberty - Sullivan County 62 Walton - Delaware County (Future Use) 63 Giboa - Green County (Future Use) 95 Austerlitz - Columbia County (Future Use) I do not have the Frequencies at this time.
  22. Westchester County has had to bump the power down so low don't even think you will be able to use a Portable and in some spots a Mobile will have problems. Hopefully someday more towers will go up. I have to give A LOT of credit to Westchester County DES they have hit WALL after WALL with this system but.... It's going to happen! The "City of New York" was NOT helpful.
