I am impressed to see that all of the equipment in the compartments stayed IN the compartments and not ALL over the street like most crashes with emergency vehicles. Maybe keeping compartments locked is not such a bad idea? I hope none of the NYPD ESU Members were injured. BE SAFE!

Multiple Victims Shot Writer: RWC130 0310 HRS Police on scene requesting back-up. 0311 HRS Police requesting EMS with a rush. approx. 4-5 shooting victims, 1 shot in the head. 0316 HRS Numerous Police Agencies on scene. UPDATE on Victims Shot: 1 DOA, 1 Critical, 2-3 Non-Life Threating

WOW... Glad I worked Sales and not Service for one of the above mentioned Motorola Two Way Radio Dealers. haha Anyone can sell radios. Even ME! As mentioned the issues are Service & Repair Department and sometimes Management of said company. IMAGE is Everything! ANY Radio Dealer....Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Etc should always try and do the right thing for the customer. OUTBACK... No Rules, Just Right!

He still pumps gas, Right? -MPO -Chauffeur -Driver -Operator You drive the Fire Apparatus = Driver Yes, Chauffeur sounds nice and so does MPO. Titles, Titles, Titles! GET-R-DONE!

"Never Before Have So Few Done So Much With So Little For So Long" I'd still love to hear an answer..... HOW DO YOU HANDLE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER OR VOLUNTEER EMT BURNOUT? This is something that ALL officers should be aware of and take some actions to prevent it. "Turn in the Pager and Gear" should be a LAST resort! Does ANY department take steps to prevent this?

Let's all be honest here.... As much as we hate to admit it EVERY Volunteer Fire Department and EVERY Volunteer Ambulance Corps has manpower issues. I have spent several years as a Volunteer Firefighter and Volunteer EMT. I also spent some time as a Paid EMT. I have seen a lot of good people in Volunteer Fire and Volunteer EMS come and go with NOTHING done to keep them. Just bash them! FF/EMT "John Doe" never comes around anymore. Get rid of him. HMMMMM Did you ever stop to think and wonder WHY? What does your agency do to handle BURNOUT? Do you say "Turn In The Gear" and drop them? Do you say "Give Us The Pager" and write them off? Fire and EMS agencies should not only focus on bringing in New Members but MEMBER RETENTION. Any Thoughts?
