Just saw the sign on Route 9 & Welcher Ave CHANGED to FRIDAY JULY 20TH

If I have a cold one, I don't get on the Engine... It's that simple! Not to change the topic of Firehouse Bars but what disturbs me is when you see Firefighters, Officers, and Chiefs in the "Beer Pit" at a Parade get SLOSHED then get behind the wheel of Fire Appatatus or Chief Car. THAT is what I would be concerned about!

When Officers and Members decide to change the name or lettering on the Ambulance from "XXX Volunteer Ambulance Corps" to "XXX EMS" do you need to change your DBA, Corporation Name, NYS DOH Paperwork, NYS DOH Certification, Etc? I've noticed a lot of VAC's make this change. Does "EMS" look cool? Sound more professional? Will the name change effect donations? Personally, I think you want the public to know you are Volunteer. Be proud of who you are.... Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Troopers rush into burning Southeast home, save man, 74 By TERENCE CORCORAN THE JOURNAL NEWS (Original publication: July 16, 2007) SOUTHEAST - Two state troopers rushed into a burning house on Seven Oaks Lane this morning and rescued a 74-year-old man who was lying helpless on the floor as flames burned both of his legs, state police said today. Troopers Robert Lombardi and C.J. Esposito from the Brewster barracks were first on the scene at the Brady residence at 33 Seven Oaks Lane after receiving a 911 call. As Lombardi arrived at the home at 4:08 a.m., he heard Lillian Brady, 73, call out that she couldn't get her husband, James Brady, out of the house, police said. Esposito grabbed the fire extinguisher from his cruiser and the two troopers went inside the home, which was beginning to fill with smoke. They made their way to the bedroom, where they saw a small fire and found Brady, who had fallen out of bed, lying on the floor. Flames had burned both his legs and his thighs, police said. Esposito extinguished the flames while Lombardi pulled Brady from away from the fire. Once Esposito doused the fire, the troopers put Brady, who was hooked up to an oxygen machine, in a wheelchair, disconnected him from the oxygen system and took him outside. Sheriff's Deputy Richard Mansfield, who arrived to assist, then supplied Brady with supplemental oxygen from a medical bag inside his cruiser. Brady was rushed to Danbury (Conn.) Hospital's trauma unit for treatment of second- and third-degree burns to his legs and smoke inhalation. Lillian Brady was also taken to the ambulance for smoke inhalation. Brewster firefighters and ambulance responded with the Empire State EMS. The cause of the fire, which damaged the bedroom, is under investigation.

I give a lot of credit and respect to NYPD and PA State Police and... all other Law Enforcement agencies involved. Good job. I would have taken them back to NYC with a Police Escort in a ME Van. I hope they get what they deserve... DEATH!

Oswegowind, The numbers on the rear 1/4 panel of the vehicle I believe are the Post ID of the Trooper car, i.e. 1T20 might say 7037 on the 1/4 panel. That is the Vehicle ID for use on TWAY. i.e. TWAY Dispatcher "New York to 7037" State Police TWAY uses the 7's series as mentioned. If the TWAY SP cars switch to Troop F or Troop K "Troop" channels then they are identified by "1T20" etc...
