  1. I like the idea of Usernames. Everyone knows RWC130! lol I think having to show your name might turn people away, which is a concern! Not because you want to bash someone or say something stupid rather as mentioned now you are John Doe from Billy Joe Bob Rescue Squad. You could find yourself in a jam! We need to promote EMTBravo and not scare people away. We all know once you make a comment with your name and or agency you are now opening the flood gates to a nice phone call from your Chief or Captain. "Hey Idiot, Why the (removed) did you say that on EMTBravo" ??? I am sure if we needed to find out who someone was we have some connections to call the MIB's (Men In Black) LOL! This message will self-destruct in five seconds!
  2. "Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue" lol Airplane In all seriousness.... Very sad to hear. God Bless!
  3. I Second That! FEEL BETTER JAY!
  4. EMTBravo Witness Protection Program YOU DON'T KNOW ME!
  5. I agree... something does not sound right. But, I have to wonder... If they have Oxygen and AED and forgot to check them... What else do they forget to check??? Emergency Equipment such as: Oxygen, First Aid Bag, AED, Flashlights, and Fire Extinguishers should be on a Pre-Flight Checklist and someone being responsible. Interesting story... It had to be "uncomfortable" for the passengers when the Doctor pronounced the patient dead and they put a sheet over the body. "Attention passengers, upon exiting the plane please STEP OVER the body, Thank you for flying"
  6. Remember585, Yes, How old was that kid we did CPR on? 15? Traumatic Arrest ejected from the Car. IMO... UNDERAGE DRINKING and DRUGS are out of hand and it's "Socially Accepted" Parents allow this to happen! KNOW WHAT YOUR KIDS ARE DOING AND WHO THEY ARE WITH!!!!! Yes, "I" partied in High School and did my share of crazy things, We ALL did.... Right? We all had FUN no one got in trouble, no one got hurt, and no one got KILLED? Were we a little more responsible? I dunno..... The SPOT LIGHTS are sure on UNDERAGE DRINKING for a damn good reason. DEATH!

  13. Nextel always had the "unlimited plan" but it was kept quiet. I had it for 3 years but I discontinued Nextel because of HORRIBLE service. After a year with Cingular like an idiot I went back to Nextel and the plan I once had was discontinued. It started at $99.00, $149.00, most recently $199.00 and as I said recently discontinued. Hopefully Sprint/Nextel will WAKE UP! As mentioned I find the Direct Connect "Bleep Bleep" more annoying than useful.
  14. On my way down to Atlantic City as I was passing by one of the NJ State Police stations just off the Garden State Parkway, I noticed on one of the cars in the lot said "EMT" The car was fully marked as a State Police unit. Did the NJ State Police start up an EMT response? I've never seen this on NJSP cars before. Anyone have information on this? GOOD JOB NEW JERSEY STATE POLICE!

  21. MCCARTNEY, DONALD J February 08, 2008 Donald J. McCartney of Yorktown Heights, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. Don was born on June 30, 1935 in the Bronx to the late Michael and Elizabeth McCartney. He graduated in 1953 from Cardinal Hayes High school in the Bronx and began employment at the Brooklyn Navy yard, where he worked on various projects, including the modernization of the USS Intrepid. During his time at the Navy Yard, he survived one of many devastating fires that plagued the shipbuilders. From 1957 to 1960, Don proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to the U.S. and joined the New York City Police Department, where he worked for 20 years. During his tenure in the NYPD, he was assigned to Motorcycle Precinct #4, and was one of the last members of the elite "Red Patches." When those precincts were dissolved into the current New York City Highway units, he was assigned to Highway Precinct #1, where he remained until his retirement in 1981. He then began his second career with the U.S. Mint Police at West Point, NY where he reached the rank of Detective. In 2001, he formally retired and enjoyed his free time with family and friends, as well as going to the gym, hiking, and taking long road trips on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Don was a member of several fraternal organizations, including the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Police. He has touched every person he has known and he will always be loved and missed dearly by all. Don is survived by his wife Corina whom he married in 1962, his two sons and their wives, Keith (Kristin) and Christopher (Gia), and two granddaughters, Kailey and Elizabeth.
