I had a thread about "Communications Issues" with area Police Departments a while back. It can be very dangerous to Police Officers when you have some Police Departments on VHF and and some on UHF and to make problems worse NO radio Inter-Operability! Yes, this still happens today with PD's right here in Westchester County. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=14419

I also got SEVERAL e-mails from concerned EMTBravo members while down in Atlantic City. Seth, I think all of the PM's, e-mails, and phone calls you got just show how much people love EMTBravo. Glad to see that EMTBravo is back up and running! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

ARROW STICKS On the market for a while now are Halogen Arrow Sticks and newer LED Arrow Sticks. I've noticed while driving on the roadway behind various types of Emergency Vehicles Arrow Sticks ON, Both in motion and stopped. I have to question... Do they really work for the intended purpose? Yes, they are BRIGHT AMBER and I do SEE them however do everyday drivers really follow the flash pattern of flashes to the Left or flashes to the Right? Today's Police, Fire, and EMS vehicles have NUMEROUS flashing Red, Blue, White, and Amber Emergency Lights. All I notice is a BIG BLURRRR of Colorful Lights. Sometimes when you have too many Emergency Lights activated while at a scene it can cause DANGEROUS conditions. "CARNIVAL EFFECT" People SMASH into the rear of Police, Fire, EMS all too often on our roadways, I don't see ANY impact with Arrow Sticks when ALL of your other Emergency Lights are activated. If I see a DOT vehicle with an Arrow Stick or a Police car that is parked with ONLY the Arrow Stick ON it's noticeable but with ALL the other Emergency Lights activated it's all the same...FLASH, FLASH, FLASH! IMO having an Arrow Stick for extra lighting to the rear is great, but as far as being used to control traffic to "Keep Left" or "Keep Right" I think they are a waste of money. Your thoughts?

How about having the numerous EMTBravo photos posted on here available for purchase online or by mail? 50/50 EMTBravo and the Photographer Have the photos all numbered and a list of every photo so if you see one you like you can get a copy. MORE ACTION / ON SCENE PHOTOS! It would also help promote EMTBravo! Just a thought!

By-Laws should have a "Minimum Qualifications" section for Line Officers which state they should be an EMT or Paramedic depending on the level of care that the EMS Agency provides. Might not be a bad idea to cover Experience also. You are an EMS Officer, How long have you been an EMT or Paramedic? I understand that some Admin positions or Board Member position need not be an EMT or Paramedic (they should be) but as far as someone involved in Operations of the VAC absolutely! Propose a By-Law change with the General Membership and make a date which this must take effect such as January 1, 2009. As far as the Press.... Yeah that's not a bad idea BUT..... Do you really wanna open the flood gates? GOOD LUCK!

GOOD LUCK JODY!

I took mine at Laguardia CC Parking is not too bad, as mentioned I would attempt to get down 30-45 min before the exam. If you can't find any spots on the street they have a Parking Garage right across the street. GOOD LUCK!
