7586 Yes, they do have a Security posted at the Old Centennial Hose Firehouse site. Not sure about 24/7 but I do know for a fact they have one. Also Peekskill PD is making frequent checks of the site heard over the radio several times. As PFD165 mentioned the people who are crossing the orange fencing to take items are NOT very smart. The exterior camera at Dains is pointed directly at the old Firehouse.

EFFP411 I will try! lol The Firehouse on Crompond Road at Broad Street was once home to 3 Peekskill Fire Companies: E131 Columbian Engine - Bottom E132 Columbian Hose - Bottom E133 Washington Engine - Top Columbian Hose E132 moved from Crompond Road to the rear of the Beach Shopping Center I wanna say about 15+ years ago? They were all numbered with "Stations" for as long as I can remember even back to when I was a kid. I think this was for identification with the Gamewell Fire System Company Call #'s The numbers were used identify which company was dispatched to Calls. Peekskill PD who use to Dispatch Peekskill Fire "KCP-575" would enter a Company Call into the Gamewell Fire Alarm System. Such as a Car Fire, Brush Fire, Etc when a "Box" had not been pulled. Company Calls 2 Fire Patrol 3 Washington Engine 4 Columbian Hose 5 Columbian Engine 6 Centennial Hose 7 Cortlandt Hook & Ladder 2-1 "All Units Returning" The Bells and Tape at the Firehouse would tap out the rounds of a Pull Box or Company / Stations and until the middle 80's the Horns located at the NYS Armory and roof of the Fire Patrol would also sound. If you heard a 5, 6, 7 sound the Firefighters would know that Columbian Engine "5", Centennial Hose "6", and Cortlandt Hook & Ladder "7" had a call. Just a "6" would be a Company Call for Centennial Hose only. We do not have a Station 7 in the Peekskill FD it was just the number assigned at the time. Cortlandt Hook & Ladder was reassigned Station 1 as Peekskill Fire HQ once the Gamewell Fire Alarm System was taken OOS. All Pull Boxes were General Alarms and ALL Peekskill Fire Apparatus would be dispatched. (Example) Box 1413 which was McKinley St and Sherman Ave if that was pulled "1-4-1-3" would be transmitted. I hope that helps!

RocklandFires, Thanks for sharing that information about it making CNN national news. I've held back on making comments about this until now. Many of you poked fun at this incident, even a refrence to people "clapping" when it collapsed? I have just one question, was that before or after it was reported that people may be trapped under it in the inital dispatch of the old firehouse collapse? Anyway.... You can make jokes about it and even the old favorite "tax payer dollars" were being wasted but to me that Firehouse meant something a lot deeper than just a building. It was a peice of history, 118 years old, a historial landmark to be exact! Lets never forget that on August 1, 1918 two members of Centennial Hose were killed in the line of duty by a Building Collapse at the Fleischmann fire. FF John Torpy and FF Walter Cole never returned to the Firehouse that day. I am sure that Firehouse meant something to them and the family members of both Firefighters. We lost seven Firefighters that day in Peekskill. So yes, that Firehouse meant something to me as a member and I am sure it does to ALL members of Centennial Hose past and present. VERY SAD LOSS! Respectfully, Robert W. Casasanta Past President Centennial Hose Co. # 4

BVFD, I am pretty sure this is the Lightbar you asked about. VERY BRIGHT! Traffic Enforcer Super-THIN LED Lightbar The MCSi import light bar is a 48 inch, Solid Aluminum LED Lightbar. Each light bar contains 22 modules. In total, there are 88 LEDs. The Primary LED Modules, Take Downs and Alleys consist of Generation III 1W LEDs. As seen on this website: http://www.middlechambersafety.com/index.p...p;products_id=6 SMWELLS, I am pretty sure the rear tail lights have Strobes in them.
