Fire Commissioners want to get rid of Greenville FD (Orange Co) Rescue Truck because it's too heavy for the roads. GREENVILLE - An Orange County fire department has been told that its best firetruck shouldn't be driven on the streets because it is too heavy for the roads. Greenville Fire Chief Robert Bello says firetruck Rescue 702 is the single most important truck the department has, and it runs 90 percent of the fire calls in the town. Bello says the town's fire commissioners want to get rid of the 2009 truck and temporarily replace it with a 23-year-old truck. Gary Baisley "Rise and Walk" Fundraiser Gary Baisley's family and friends are uniting to raise money to help with his battle to get back on his feet and walk! The Orangetown P.B.A. and the “Friends of Gary Baisley” are respectfully submitting a request for assistance from all of our friends and neighbors. On August 6th a young man named Gary Baisley, 23 years of age, was involved in a very serious swimming accident in the Hudson River. His frightened friends pulled him out of the water and Gary was in cardiac arrest. By the grace of God there was an off duty Stony Point Police Officer nearby who began CPR; saving his life. His lungs had collapsed and they were infected with trapped salt water Gary’s neck was broken, shattering his C-5 and badly breaking his C-6 vertebrae. He was in the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY for 2 ½ weeks where he fought to stay alive through many surgeries. The day after the accident doctors informed his family that he was in complete organ failure and if he survived the night; he would be a quadriplegic at best. Gary, a volunteer fireman from Congers New York, stunned the doctors and all the naysayers with his will to survive. At a time in his life when it would have been very easy for him to give up and quit; Gary went in the opposite direction. Gary's will and determination to walk again is not only an inspiration to everyone who knows him but a testament to the character of the young man we all knew him to be. PLEASE DONATE! Some recent photos taken May 17, 2014 I hope to give it a nice coat of wax next week. Progress...... So far for 2014 it will be at the Montrose & Mamaroneck Parades and the Catskill Fire Cats Muster. Maybe a Car Show at Bear Mountain. As I get requests I am happy to attend parades or FD functions.

The more tools and products like this for Emergency Responders the better. As I recall "I Am Responding" came in with a super low deal for a County in our area getting all FD and EMS agencies including the 911 Dispatch to buy in then a year later BOOM! Doubled the fees. We got ya! Nice huh?

KS1980, You should take a ride out to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. That is where the NYPD Aviation Unit is located. They are usually very welcoming to visitors (who are nice) they also have plenty of t-shirts and buff stuff. Same goes with visiting most FDNY Firehouses. Enjoy! =)
