SteveOFD, I am going to take a guess they might be UHF Pagers? Montrose FD has a UHF Link to 46.26 which is 453.4125 or they might stay on 46.26. Not sure, hopefully one of the members of Montrose FD will comment further. Best of luck to Montrose FD with the new Pagers!

This sounds like some great technology for the fire service. I am looking forward to hearing more about it. Does anyone here on EMTBravo have this equipment?

GREAT TOPIC! In this area I remember when AeroMed first came around, then STAT Flight and now LifeNet. You also have the New York State Police "LifeGuard" and bordering NJ and CT Medivacs. Medivac requests continue to grow not only for "scene calls" but also for critical patient transports from hospital to hospital. Are they needed? Absolutely! Let's not forget not that long ago you didn't have Choppers available to you, (none in this area) in fact you were lucky if you had Advanced Life Support. Remember "Load and Go" ? Do I think Medivac is over used? NO NWFDMedic you make an EXCELLENT point! Personally, I would rather send a patient up in the chopper to a trauma center to find out they were not as bad as I thought then transport by ground to a local hospital to find out the patient is critical and the local hospital cannot handle the patient delaying life saving measures. Obviously every patient does not need a trauma center or a chopper, you have to be comfortable with your patient accessment skills, that takes time and experience. Is anyone ever wrong for calling the chopper? I would have to say probably not, but that is my own opinion. (broken toe does not apply here!) lol We are fortunate in this area to have Trauma Centers close by such as Westchester Medical and Jacobi. Not everyone is, in some areas you might have a local hospital ride by Ambulance 45+ minutes and a Trauma Center up to 2 hours if not more? I would not abuse Medivac but if you feel it's needed go ahead and CALL THEM! Just keep in mind sometimes depending on where you are it might actually faster to TX the patient by Ambulance.

I was sent a photo from a Fire Truck dealer about 2 years ago showing our old Ladder 45 repainted to Red & Black with some upgrades on the electrical system. I was told it was used in a movie and then sold to a FD as spare Ladder. I have to agree with KRF178, In addition to the wheels I also remember that compartment area near the turn table being open with diamond plate. I think it had a set of Irons, Pry Bar, Portable Lights, Etc mounted. Also the Amber Turn Signals were NOT under the headlights, they were above the headlights next to the Red Flashers. I don't remember the Red Flashing light on the corner of the bumper. Just to note back in 2001 after 9/11 I had put FDNY 9/11 8087 stickers on several of our Peekskill FD Fire Apparatus and the Fire Truck Dealer who purchased the old Ladder 45 had left the FDNY Stickers on it even after the refurb and paint job. The "For Sale" photos were posted on the internet for quite some time. I am gonna go with it's NOT Peekskill FD's old 1989 Pierce 105' Ladder Any members of Port Jervis FD on here?

I was watching News12 tonight and I saw the Old Mount Vernon Rescue was reported MISSING? Months later? Apparently months ago when it was scrapped at a local junk yard for parts the City of Mount Vernon never authorized it? Interesting. I guess who ever approved that will be in some hot water over this as they mentioned the IG will be investigating this incident.

Actually the NYPD Auxiliary RMP's use to be White with Blue lettering. The NYPD RMP's were Royal Blue with White lettering. When the NYPD RMP's were painted with the new colors of White with Blue lettering the NYPD Auxiliary RMP's were then painted Navy Blue with White Lettering. So the NYPD Auxiliary RMP's are going back to what they once were back in the late 80's and 90's. White with Blue lettering. I know this because back in the 90's I was a NYPD Auxiliary PO. 95MN12 24/30 PCT
