Glad to be part of EMTBravo since Day 1 and honored to be Member # 2. I remember like it was yesterday chatting online AOL IM with Seth about a website he was starting up. I logged on and signed up. 6 years later here we are! EMTBravo has come a LONG way and continues to grow. Thank You Seth and to ALL the Members for making EMTBravo what it is today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMTBRAVO!

It would not be registered with DES or would DES allow it to be registered as a privately owned Fire Apparatus. It would just be for "Show" non-firefighting use. I THINK A MUSTER OR PARADE TRUCK WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA! If purchasing a Fire Apparatus due to Cost, Insurance, and Liability would make things difficult we would always rent one for a day/event and put some kind of "EMTBravo" sign/lettering on it. This would have to be Seth's call.

I suggest: EMTBravo Goes "On The Road" in 2009 Oh wait, we already have that! How about EMTBravo Fire/EMS Training? We have so much talent on here. Would someone like to do a lecture for us? Also, one of our members suggested to me a EMTBravo Day at the NYS Firemen's Home. I am sure the guys and gals up in Hudson, NY would love that. Thoughts? I'd be happy to set it up. In 2009 the EMTBravo Events is going to EXPLODE! Whoops, can I type that word online? lol One last thing.......... In 2009 I would like to see EVERY MEMBER of EMTBravo Log On and Donate to help keep this GREAT site running. Seth has to dip into his own pockets month after month for us. It's not fair! We had 35 Votes for Mahoney's and 22 Votes for Copperfield's out of respect for EVERYONE and the Christmas Spirit I decided to have EMTBravo Goes "On The Road" at BOTH locations. Smile! Now, the Million Dollar question is WHO IS GOING? Are you going to Mahoney's? Are you going to Copperfiend's? Do you guys want to kick in say $5.00 or $10.00 a head to get some Appetizers or would you rather everyone on their own? We did $15.00 a head at the Holiday Party and it worked out well. Everyone got some Appetizers and one Beer or Soda for the $15. For this, maybe everyone on their own will be easier? Thoughts?

IMO, Portable Radios belong on the Fire Apparatus where they are ALWAYS READY to grab and hopefully ALWAYS CHARGED. As a Firefighter that Portable Radio is your LIFELINE! Agree? Having a Portable Radio for every SCBA is EXCELLENT! Fire Officer's should always be able to contact ANY Firefighter who is inside a Structure or working at an Incident. It's nice to issue members of the FD Portable Radios (i.e. Top Responders, Etc) but what happenes when you have a Fire and they don't show up? Maybe 10 of your Top 15 Responders have Day Jobs? Now, you have a Fire at 1 PM where are the Portable Radios? What do the other Firefighters do without a Radio? It's nice to issue Firefighter's equipment such as Portable Radio, Flashlights, and in some cases SCBA's but HAVE A BACK UP PLAN! I am sure it's not long before OSHA, NFPA, PESH, or NIOSH step in and say "Radio Communication Device" aka Portable Radio is part standard issue equipment just like PPE for FF Safety and rightfully so. Two In, Two Out, BOTH should have a Portable Radio!

This topic was beat to death a while ago! Yes, unless you are a Police Officer, Peace Officer, or Licensed Ham Radio Operator having a Scanner or Two Way Radio that is capable of monitoring Police Frequencies is ILLEGAL. Now, as I said before if you are a Firefighter/EMT show some respect to a Police Officer who might pull you over and TURN IT OFF! Is the PD is busting Horns is it for a reason? A lot of Police Officer's look the other way on Scanners if you are a Firefighter or EMT as sometimes they are beneficial for various reasons. Did the Police Officer bust chops about the 10 Blue Lights and Rear Red/White Strobes and then notice the Scanner? lol
