  15. No doubt the quick actions of the Pilot saved everyone. MANY kudos to the Pilot, Flight Crew, Air Traffic Controlers, NYC Waterway Boat Crews, Circleline Boats Crews, and ALL Emergency Responders! After 9/11 I don't think anyone can watch a Plane flying low over the Hudson River in the NYC area without thinking "Oh No" GOD BLESS ALL THE PASSENGERS AND FLIGHT CREW!

  18. Always Remember... SAFETY FIRST! New York State Trooper assigned to Troop K, Troop F, or Troop T which is Thruway all the have same authority. They are "State Troopers" The fact that a State Trooper from Troop T patrols I-287, I-87, or I-95 makes them no different than a State Trooper in the Town of Somers, Town of Cortlandt, or the Taconic Parkway. They only difference with a State Trooper who patrols the NYS Thruway I believe is his/her Overtime is paid by the NYS Thruway Authority. State Troopers assigned to "Troop T" are not NYS Thruway Authority Employees. SP Members correct me if I am wrong?

    I worked for Empress several years ago, currently I work for TransCare. Both Empress and TransCare are good places to work. You will get some great EMT experience. I also deal a lot with Westchester EMS thru another job and they are a good company too. At the BLS level if you want to see some "911 Calls" I would have to say go with Empress or TransCare. Unless you have EMT experience you will have to put your time in doing BLS Transports at both companies, Don't sweat it! We all did. You might also want to consider joining a local VAC. They always need the help and it looks great on a resume. GOOD LUCK!
