Several years ago I used Water Jel on a on a patient who was burned while lighting a BBQ. The Water Jel worked very well and began to cool the burned area and did take away some of the pain. I have also used Water Jel on severe sun burn (my own) Again it worked very well cooling the burned area and took away the pain. I've noticed that Water Jel is not so popular anymore with EMS but very common in First Aid Kits. Rumors were that it was good for "temporary" relief of Minor Burns however if they were Severe Burns the ER or Burn Unit would have to clean off all the Water Jel from the patient causing even more pain and discomfort. I know some EMS agencies pulled this product off the ambulances. Do any Westchester EMS agencies still carry Water Jel? TR54, I actually remember seeing it on "That's Incredible" lol

Could be Lost? Could have Walked Away? That is a possible thought about another FD taking them by mistake. Fairview FD (Dutchess) Fairview FD (Westchester) The best I saw so far was an Ambulance in Greene County, NY that had one marked "NYC EMS"

If you put the Westchester County Trunked System Frequencies into a Conventional Scanner you will be able to hear the Trunked System just fine. The only bad news is you will also hear the County Bee Line Buses. North Zone 470.325 470.350 470.375 470.525 470.550 You must scan all of them with no PL I work Midnights so the Bee Line Radio Traffic is minimal

I remember in the late 80's and early 90's when "262" was the EMT car. Peekskill PD had several PO's who were EMT's including one PO who was a Paramedic. (Now a SGT) 262 was labeled "EMT" on the side of the car (Great PR!) it would be dispatched to most Medical Emergencies in the City. Unfortunately this EMT car came to and end once the FD started sending an Engine on EMS calls and the start up of ALS in the City of Peekskill. I would love to see this come back as Police are always on patrol and for the most part have a much faster response. It was a Life Saving asset to the residents of the City of Peekskill to have PO/EMT's Do any of the Peekskill PD cars have AED's?

It was on June 14, 2005 that I lost a friend of mine. LT. PETER B. LUND Lt. Pete Lund joined the FDNY in 1973 and retired from Rescue Co. 2 in 2003. He was a lifelong member of the Woodmere Fire Department, as well as an active member of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department. Lt. Pete Lund responded to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 with the members of the Rescue 2. Lt Pete Lund has been featured on TV Shows such as "The Bravest" and in a book called The Last Men Out: Life on the Edge at Rescue 2 Lt. Pete Lund also founded a Firefighter Training Group called Traditions Training. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO KNOW YOU BROTHER, THANKS FOR THE MANY FUN TIMES RIDING WITH YOU AND THE BROTHERS AT RESCUE 2. IN MY OPINION.... Failure to yield to the Police Officer was probably NOT on purpose. It says the Police Officer was traveling at a "High Speed" ? I've been on the Sprain Parkway and Saw Mill Parkway when State Police or County Police came up behind me Code 3 (paying attention to my mirror and seeing the police vehicle approaching with red lights on I immediately pulled to the right) however I did not actually hear the siren until he was right on my rear bumper or almost passing. Add to that, Windows closed, Radio on, A/C, other distractions? One article says the Siren was not on? I am sure the Police Officer got a little "Hot" and maybe rightfully so. Was he going to a "10-13"? Maybe the Driver of the Ambulance was slow in yielding or didn't yield at all? I was NOT in the Police Car, Ambulance, or a Witness to the incident so it's hard to say what happened. BUT......... As we can all clearly see the Police Officer did inform him that he is UNDER ARREST and at that point he should have complied with the Police Officer. Right or Wrong it's a lawful order from a uniformed Police Officer. The minute he put his hands on the Police Officer he was DONE!!! That was just STUPID! If Chris192 told me I was under arrest for drinking a Carvel Milk Shake I would NOT be too happy but I would not resist arrest. Well, Carvel... Maybe I would. LOL! This could have been handled internally between PD and EMS Supervisors. PROFESSIONALISM!
