  1. Technically as long as the county is still using it, it would be in service right Considering that it was quite a stretch to say E 193 was " In service" and ISO counted that as the 3rd engine to reach 3500 gpm, How hard would it be to say nothing has changed.
  2. Good thing the ISO review was done before we got rid of it. Now we have almost 10 years before they come back to look again. Maybe we will get a new 2000 gpm engine before that.
  3. Budget proposes laying off one police officer and 5 other city employees. When asked how to get rate even lower, the city manger said that would require layoff more police officers, and firefighters, and close a firehouse. Link below http://soundshore.lohudblogs.com/2010/11/09/rye-proposes-2011-budget-with-employee-layoffs-2-16-percent-tax-rate-increase/
  4. And here we go again. "Paid Driver," are you for real, get a clue.
  5. Fire Dude if you can post your 25th pic you can see a hydrant that was hidden or obscured by the all the bags off leaves on the front lawn. These are the homeowners leaves either he or his landscaper blocked the hydrant with all the bags and required engine 191 to lay several hundred feet of 5 inch rather then maybe 50 feet they would have needed if they had been able to see the hydrant.
  6. No, it is not true, they used a hydrant. It was U49 not U39. As far as why and what unfortunately I think you answered your own( bash away).
  7. As I recall when Rye's Ladder 25 was delivered it was the last scheduled one. I believe the reason they stopped, was they could not get the needed air flow into the new motors(emisssions). Rye had bought a crate motor prior to purchasing the ladder just to avoid emisssions and ensure the low pro style.
  8. Not knowing much about tanker operations that sounds really good.
  9. Ang can you post some specs. ie. tank, motor, wb, foam, price, etc. Thanks
  10. What is the deal with a dispatcher being on scene. I do not see the Field Comm as being on scene on the IA. Just curious is this something new, or is part of Pelhams response plan.

  13. Ang. should buy it. It certainly did more work in Port Chester then it ever did in Rye. Back in the day when Port Chester's 2 ladders were out of service they would "borrow" Ladder 26.
  14. I thought it was more like the floatation devices on the skids of a helicopter

  19. Are you people for real. a. Bush and the Mayor of D.C. have asked for the money. b. This will be a very important day in American history like it or not and a lot of people want to be there to see history. Bush and FEMA have such a great track record together don't they please!
  20. I really do not see why people are getting so worked up about this stuff, we have a great system in place, it is called checks and balances it has been working for 232 years. Why is no one talking about these corporations that board of directors are robbing us all blind. CEO's taking huge profits and leaving nothing for the rest of the company or it's employees, forcing companies into bankruptcy. And now we are all going to start paying for it. American Express has now changed to a bank so that they can get a piece of the 700 billion. This is the stuff that is affecting us ALL right now today. We should be up in arms about this, not some silly stuff that the American public will never stand for.
  21. Check out this video with Obama talking about your guns. Sounds like any with a gun should be really scared.
  22. Yea I heard about this too. I heard it will be called "BLACK WATER" . Wait a minute isn't that the name of Bush and Cheney's private security force(that we have spent untold millions with).
  23. That would be covered under, " I think the best thing for the City of Rye would be to implement many of the ideas that are in the study that was mentioned earlier in this thread, in regards to both the Fire and Police Departments." That is one of many recommendations in the study. But I am sure you already knew that since you clearly know so much.
