  1. May he rest in peace
  2. Does this apply to ems districts as well?
  3. What a terrible tradegy. Such a young life. My son is only a year older. Hug your kids today.
  4. My guess is this will take years to implement but it should truly serve as a wake up call to all affected especially all civil service unions with respects to consolidation and benefits. I suggest you read 3-9 in the recommendations.
  5. I hate to add fire to the pit here but if you saw the channel 2 news report the other day many of our congress men and women are leasing cars such as Escelades and paying and paying as much as $700.00 per month....on the taxpayer which also includes gas. So while we have to deal with the price of gas, oil, taxes and food on the rise and people are losing thier homes our elected officals who I thought work for us and are telling us to cut back by car-pooling, buying fuel efficient cars, etc seem to be living pretty large. I guess there is no recession for congress.
  6. May he rest in peace.
  7. As long as we are dependent on foreign oil we will continue to pay the amount we are paying. We get alot of oil from Venezuela where people are paying 14 cents a gallon.
  8. What would of been an appropriate response to this past incident?
  9. I would also have a hard time having my son frisked but unfortunately terrorists have used children as bombs or to transport materials so it is a price we pay for safety.
  10. I do not think anyone is rejoicing as you put it. There were no winners here. A life was lost and many others ruined. It is unfair to judge a split second decision made by these three officers. Apparently the judge did not buy the prosecutions case and questioned the crediblity of the witnesses. These officers did not get up that morning and plan to kill anyone. They responded to a threat and handled it based on thier training. What the liberal media doesn't repeat over and over is the attempt to run one of the cops over. His clothes were embedded in the bumper of the car. This was no doubt a tradegy that resulted in a young life lost but by no means was a crime committed and the judge agreed.
  11. Now who is judging?

  14. Making threats and venting are two different things.
  15. This is so true but not just the old boys there is a newer breed filtering that also has a resistive nature that thinks they know everything. Quitting is not the answer.
  16. Sounds like a real stand up citizen.
  17. First, yes it seems it was a good job knowing several people who were up there. Second, I have yet to read any bashing from us "Westchester Guys" ...just objectionable points being presented which is why this forum exists.
  18. Isn't it protocol to let the medics takeover once they get on scene?
  19. I have never heard of flying a flag at half staff due to losing manpower. Doesn't it cheapen the real meaning of why we lower the flag?
  20. We are talking about a government agency....anything is possible.
  21. Saw on Ch12 news that a Sleepy Hollow FF was involved in saving this guys life. Congratulations and great job!!!
  22. The AHD sets requirements. If they want to wave the requirements to allow someone to fill the spot I believe they can but a person may be experienced as a firefighter but have no experience in management and leadership which is taught in Intro to Fire Officer.
  23. Our prayers are with you.
