My son is looking to take tests for fire and police. What books are good for study guides? Barrons? Arco? Any others out there. I appreciate any input.

I am not condoning what Plaxico Buress did but his case is different than what has been happening lately. He was just plain stupid and got caught. What is happening lately is a blatant disregard for law enforcement officers. There is no more fear. No more respect for the police. These perps are flat out killing cops and will not stop untill they themselves are killed. And it is true.... they get arrested, put into prison and they get 3 meals, recreation, tv, law library, visits, free medical, dental, mandated grievance procedures, and the right to harass, assault, spit on, throw any type of body fluids, threaten, curse at, take hostage and kill correction officers because as much as they do not respect cops on the street there is even less respect for those officers in the prisons and jails thanks to liberal...yes I said LIBERAL law makers and judges who have tied the hands of those charged with keeping these murderers locked up. My prayers and thoughts are with those officers who died. May the rest in peace.

Were any members of the Armed Forces killed also? Would they count as responders?

Mark Butler runs an excellent program. I highly recommend it for anyone who has any kind of decision making authority. I wish this course could be taught on a local level.

So he steals a car because he claimed he was in danger at his group home. He than speeds through 2 states and puts poeple in jeopardy and ultimately critically wounds a cop who was just doing his job. It is not a fair trade. It is another pathetic example of the system and my 24 years in this system has proven to me time and time again it is all about $$$$. Law and order is secondary. Time to put victims first and cleary the victim is Officer Osso.

Very nice set up. All that is missing is a Cinzano umbrella, grill, cooler, tv,...

Officer Osso suffered horrific injuries. This perp, no matter how troubled he is a perp who not only critically wounded a cop but also put other lives in jeopardy as well. This perp deserves more than 7 years in fact should do twice that. We have to stop justifying why people do things and make them accountable for thier actions.
