I have a used ping-pong table I wish to donate to either a firehouse or ems building. It is foldable and has wheels. It was used alot and has some scratches but is still in good condition. Send me a private message if you are interested.

The "black eye" was not given by the fire department. Don't label a whole department solely on the actions of a few. SHFD is a fine organization. Let's also remember that in this country people are innocent untill proven guilty.

While you are most certainly entitled to your opinion you are not making any sense. Before you continue you have been asked by others to show some facts to support your statements especially this one: "and BTW, your unions didn't "FIGHT" for those "rights," your unions sold you out to the Democrats for those "rights" and thinking anything else is being ignorant of ALL the facts. Feel free to look up the history of each specific union in this area - i have, and it's disgusting". What unions are you referring to and in what area?

To any of you that have been associated with College Ems Squads...my son is presently a Freshman at our local community college and will transfer to a 4 year school in Sept of 2012. He is contemplating on taking the emt course. He is also a college baseball player and time is usually not friendly during the season. Are the time requirements very stringent? Also do any of the schools wether it be SUNY or private offer any tuition discounts for services rendered. Any response would be appreciated.

Very nice pictures. Brings back memories when I used to coach little league when my son played. I used to look forward to the kick-off parade. One of the few community events left in Amercia.

Very amusing. Were you around when Reagan was president?

Matt first let me say I am sorry to hear of your medical issues and hope for a better future for you. On the coverage issue. Unless there is a causal relationship between your tumors and your duties as a firefighter it would be up to your private insurance company to cover it. VFBL only covers line of duty injuries. Even for career firefighters if they are hurt on the job they are covered under 207-a ( correct me if I am wrong) and what ever illness or accident they sustain off duty would be handled by thier private insurance company which us usually a benefit they get as part of thier compensation package. Now if you are asking that volunteers be afforded health insurance I believe there are programs where you can get jump on with your local municipality however you would have to pay for it but I believe it would be at a group rate. Again sorry for your dilemna

My son took the exam and said some questions were easy and some were a bit difficult. He did say it was easier than the NYPD test he took last month.

This "church" which was founded by a mail order minister is nothing more than a racist hate group. I read the history on them and they seem to attack just about everyone. While I understand the court's stance on freedom speech it seems when rulings on acts such as this group of village idiots seem to be victorious but other issues such as praying in school, xmas trees on public displays and other religious or American traditions seems to get shot down. I hope the members of this fake church sleep good at night knowing that the very same people who they are protesting died protecting thier right to protest thier funerals. Look at other countries such as Libya where protestors are getting shot on site. Maybe they should go there and set up camp. Who are they to Judge?

I am a former EMT-I. With the excpection of a few sticks I hardly used the skills I was taught. The majority of the calls were BLS. I won't go as far as saying that taking the class was a waste of time as I learned alot from some excellent instructors.

Very sad....may he rest in peace

The pictures are priceless. Nothing like old firehouses

I was told during a training day at work that unless it is for official duty you can not carry a firearm in a post office or within 1000 feet of a school.
