You would have to pay the whole amount due if it cost 1,300.00 a month for coverage you would have to pay the whole amount. As ALS said if his cost 2000. 00 a month than that is what it would cost you. The Town is not paying any of it for you you need to pay them and they pass it along to there provider.

Are you talking about the Volunteer's being able to purchase the same Health Care as all Town Employees in that District? I mean that each individual has to pay out of their own pocket, not the Department or District? If that is what you are talking about I feel it is a great idea with the cost of Insurance, the Town is able to get a better package than an individual . I see it with my 19 year old that has not made up her mind and is buying her own package. I for one am thankful I work for a town that has a good package and am even more thankful I do not have to pay for it.

In my Department the 3 chiefs are paid for by District as well we have Nextels in most of our apparatus. Officers and Members pay for their own.

I agree with you Andy, I do not see how the incentives will help , Besides if you get the credit ,rebate , what ever they want to call it ,the State , Town are short the money so they raise it somewhere else and we still are paying the same if not more. The price of Gas is not stopping me from going on calls.

We are trying to put together a Golf outing in September at Somers Pointe, ( Heritage Hills) for 150.00 per person, Box Lunch, Buffett Dinner, Is there any intrest????????

I like the Exhaust dumping up High above you instaed of under the vehicle. With the drive thru building do they use exhaust systems?

I agree that Chiefs Vehicles and ALL emergency Vehicles should not Park Illegally, we are supposed to lead by example, as for the idleing issue, with all the new rules and regulations coming from the DEP and DEC, Where I work the Town has passed an ordinance as well as the Law that Daday posted we can not idle any Town vehicle for more thah 5 Minutes, unless it is below 30 degrees. Only exception is in the Emergency Mode for Police, blocking a road, etc. same goes for all Maintence Vehicles.

I agree with what HFd says as well, I also do not think there would be any Liability, to the vac or the person, wearing the shirt. The shirt is an "advertisment" for the Vac or FD just like a shirt that says Caterpillar, Mac Tools, Budweiser, etc. I know of no way to stop people from getting them either, unless the Fd , PD or Vac tells Members they can not give them away and do not throw them in Good Will bins etc. Also we would have to stop selling them as some places do as a Fundraiser.

They work nicely but you have to remember that it cuts your flow in half, Katonah has one we demo ed it when I was chief and we have areas in town that it will work, like bridges with streams under them with greater lifts than 30'. We also have some ponds that we willl never get a pumper close enough too. We have never had to use it at an actual call. Hopefully we never will but we have one. If I remember Correctly they have them in WildWood all thru out the Piers and they said they work very well. Plus there they are all Pre Pied for them. So it is a solution for water pressed areas, at least half the flow is better than nothing.

Seth Thank You for posting the thread and other info. As having been a Chief and knowing that our apparatus has been sprayed with it a Katonah and other parades, I have seen the damage it has done, As well as the party snappers. As also having had drivers hit with the party snappers and the string in the face as they are driving in the parade. I agree totally with it not being there. Regardless of what all are saying on here maybe the apparatus is not that important,maybe the uniforms are not that important, the man or woman is to me. I also did have to explain where the damage on the paint is from in the Commisioners meeting, why shoould I have too? Why should the people whose uniforms got ruined, pay for them, why should the Fire District pay for them? Would it be okay as people are driving down Bedford Road in Katonah if we stood out there and sprayed it on them and there cars?I have had people stop and complain that we sprayed them with a mist of water when we are cleaning catch basins. As some of you say it is okay to have fun and I agree but I know this much I will not allow or Permit my Children to do that at a Parade. I want the Public to mesh with us well and vice versa.

I would be all for everyone having fun, But do not spray it on me or the apparatus, go spray it on your parents and their cars.

I agree with it Bedford has a ordinance for alarms , and fines for false alarms. Plenty of Businesses have been taken to court for not paying fines etc. Homeowners have same thing, I can agree with billing on all MVA and the like, do not charge residents, I also know they can bill for all Haz MAt calls and they do not. We have lost many sets of Turnouts and the like I feel it is not right to burden the Town Tax Base with anything that goes on with those types of calls. What ever can be re couped should be.

Inconsiderate is one way to put it, Lazy is another, or as the world is now a days the me and I am entitled to everything world. This is just another example of peoples laziness. The same thing happens in Katonah all the time in front of the Post Office , at the A&P shopping Center all areas are marked, with signs and paint all ignored. We have been at alarms in these locations we park there, and people will nose in or pull right up to rigs and then if we say anything to them they get insulted tell us off the whole boat. Cops have ticketed them an all still keeps happening.

I neglected to add in my post that it takes the cart vendors 6 to 8 months to get the required permit and since the issue was pushed about 12 years ago we have been lucky enough to not have seen them since.

Was Harrison in Possesion of their Engine yet or did the Dealer bring it up to show? The show was 2 weeks after the J.I.M.M.Y Muster and it was still in the Dealers hands then.
