Dear Family and Friends, I can only muster up the facts right now. 1. a new fast growing satellite tumor has developed on the left side of the brain (original is on the right) 2. this tumor was not there 6 weeks ago. 3. two spots in the original tumor seem to have become faster growing. 4. the neurosurgeon is working hard on finding the best coarse of action 5. the oncologists are working hard on and investigating studies that will be of benefit immediately. 6. all standard treatment has been used, therefore, it is time to investigate clinical trials 7. this is all very hard to digest, but we are thinking positive and hopefully, will have some answers within the next 24 hours. Please pray, and know that we love you. Don't hesitate to visit or call - we need support. Jimboy is stable at the moment and still looking great. We are currently at Westchester Medical Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. We are going to give this our all. There will be no stone unturned. PRAY!!!! We love you all. God and Jimboy will guide us. Love, Gina, Jim and Family

I feel I need to touch base. We are marching forward as best we can. We will be getting information this afternoon. Until then, I needed to thank each and every one of you for your constant love, support and prayers. I know God is watching us carefully. I know He is with us every step of the way. I know you don't know what to say. . . neither do we. Just know that we need all your support. We don't know this outcome, but we were never meant to. We will be gaining our strength from all your prayers and love. Please, please, stay in touch with us even if it is an email, phone call or message. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO SAY!!! Our love for our boy is deep and strong, he has guided all of us so far. We owe it to him to give it our all. This is the path that we have chosen. We will do nothing that disrupts his quality of life, but will give him everything he needs. Please know this is very difficult for us, but we are trying to stay realistic. We have a lot of decisions to make, but will be praying real hard. We will be giving it our all for Jimboy. Remember his incredible spirit and pray for his strength. He has taught us all something important. He has affected and continues to affect how we live and think. He is an incredible inspiration to us all. Pray for him, God is listening. Live each day by the moment you are in. Love your family like no tomorrow. Be passionate about life. . .and teach your children the same. We love you all. I will update you all with the next steps . . . until then keep smiling. Someone said to me recently. . . "I guess it doesn't really matter how long you have been here. . . it is how much you have done while you were here." It is so true. All our love and God Bless You All, Gina, Jim and Family Gina - 914 438-3088 Jim - 914 403-1871 House - 914 277-8213

June 8th 2005 Jimmy boy will be the Grand Marshall of the Katonah Parade. As well he was made an Honorary Member of Katonah Fire Dept. So we hope to see all of you there this is a very proud moment for my family as to think this time last year he had surgery #2 and we were all praying and wondering if he would be recovering from all his left side deficets. He is truly a miracle and we would have never made it with out all your help and prayers. As well I can not forget that he is also a Honorary Member of Somers and Goldens Bridge Fd's. Jimmy is one lucky little boy to have so many people pulling for him.

Yes the county does not "run the Hospital" but they are stilll holding the bag and a lot of the responsibility for it. When they made it a private entity they made themselves responsible if they would default.Enough said about that, the Burn Unit is very important supposebly the only one from here to Albany. We all need to do and go the extra mile to make sure it gets back on track and stays open. It was the Bright and shining star for my son Jimmyboy and for so many of us in Westchester and surronding area.As well the Westchester County Volunteer FireMans Assoc. recently donated 10 VCR /DVD players to the unit.

Dear All You Wonderful People in Our Life, So, yesterday Jimboy gained another 2.5 pounds. We are at a whopping 36.5 pounds!!!! YAHOO!!!! He is moving around more, looks clearer than I have seen him in a long time, talking more and just plain old happy. But then again, throughout the entire past year, I don't ever remember him not giving us a smile. No matter what he faced there was still a smile to be had. He really is a true living, breathing inspiration. Wow - what a year and a half. Which brings me to a conversation I had with a friend this morning. She asked how he was doing and I explained how well he has been, and that the tumor is still stable and that now we wait until July for the next MRI. Her reply was so what you are telling me is "He is truly a miracle." I answered, "Yes I guess so." I hung up and really started to think about it. Which, leads me to the questions, "What constitutes a miracle?" Please share your thoughts on this. I have believed from day one that this little angel was a miracle just because he was living with such a large tumor and was still living his daily life. Walking, talking etc., but now I think about the incredible obstacles he has overcome, and that is a miracle. When is something officially declared a miracle? He still has a stable tumor? As long as it does not grow? I am at a loss. He is alive - that is a miracle!!! We still have to wait and watch. Thoughts on this subject are very welcome. I believe that so many miracles have happened throughout this course. The miracle of people. The miracle of love. The miracle of life. The miracle of God. Is that the miracle? The miracle of taking each day at a time, and realizing what life really is? Interesting isn't it? As always, I love you each and every one for your continuous miracle in our life. I always thought the miracle was the BIG ONE. I think we have to look at all the little ones, and pray for the one that will make the big difference - tumor free. So there you all have it, from the incredibly over active thinking mind of Gina Arena. Take a big deep breath today and enjoy the miracles around you. Love, Gina and Family

CONGRATS And Good Luck, if you need any Baby Sitters you know who to call!!!!!!!!!!!!

firemn23 that is the whole problem they do not tell us or actually the ego you can't tell me what to do kicks in while a lot of dept's or some members say this, it won't change. Leadership from within will, needs to be stated what they want to do all the chiefs need to agree to do it when some of the non complient members do not, instead of letting it go let them have it. The life you be saving could be your own. everyone's ego needs to go toe the line and lets all do it.

Okay Thanks for all the applause but all we did is call 1 person, anyways they have a new director of the ER from what we hear,I wish him well, okay now onto the important stuff, I do hope that all the Mt. Pleasant FD s that surrond WCMC are trained on the use and set up of all the DECON equipment. Another point to make is know that it is in the Trailer maybe it should be set up and checked out to make sure it weathered the winter well. EVeryone PLEASE understand that myself and my wife want to see the Medical Center not only survive but flourish so anything we can do to make it better we will do and continue to keep doing.
